The evil sorceress Azkadellia has placed me under her spell and commanded me to start this "fan appreciation thread" for Kathleen Robertson.

All I can say to you Kathleen is, "If you ever decide to leave your husband, I am here for you. I have vast experience in the handling of wicked witches, as my ex-wife was one!" .... I'm joking of course, well okay, maybe only partly joking. But in any case .....

There is no need for you to wander around the grocery stores looking for fans Kathleen because we're right here!

If anyone wishes to add their own accolades or images of Kathleen Robertson, then please feel free to do so. :D

Thanks BadPrincess. These captures are in "22-inch HD widescreen" and they loose something when uploaded on the Internet. I'm going to check to see how they look on my standard 17" monitor later. I like Smeagol's because hers have a tighter interlace, probably because they're compressed/smaller.

I started with "The Making Of .... " series from the DVD and I'll move-on to the actual movie at another time.

I can't believe how many credits Kathleen has to her name! I was just at the iMDB, and she has a full page of credits already!

Note: I've moved Kathleen's credits into the first post, and deleted them from this post.

You're right, EvenStar, Kathleen is very underappreciated and understated. However I read an online bio/synopsis somewhere in which she said, "I really don't want to be more known than I already am. I'm recognized in the grocery store and that's nice. I'm happy with that."

That's why I commented directly to Kathleen in the first post of this topic. Here's a copy of my opening text .....

All I can say to you Kathleen is that, "If you ever decide to leave your husband, I am here for you. I have vast experience in the handling of wicked witches, as my ex-wife was one!" .... I'm joking of course, well okay, maybe only partly joking. But in any case .....

There is no need for you to wander around the grocery stores of Canada looking for fans Kathleen, because we're right here!
smile.gif

It was a semi-inside joke, just in case she ever decided to pop-in and read. smile.gif

Oh, I don't like this one bit! Kathleen is always dropping to the 4th through 8th positions. She needs to be 'on top' all of the time! wink.gif

Bumping to the top and leaving for my favorite place, Costco! Woo-hoo, I just spent $330.00 on new high-tech glasses and one of the lenses popped-out last night. LOL. Substandard labor to be sure. mad.gif

Sorry, as we told you before Alexandria, there are no days off here. That's a totally bogus excuse you're using. Everyone knows that you can't write any paper on the "Eclipse" here. The only research paper that could possibly qualify on this board is one on "The Double Eclipse."

I have to place "<joke>" in my text so the commies don't delete a perfectly good post. .... I loved that "Li-berry" post and it had accurate info in it. I didn't even receive an apology. Waaaa!!!

BTW, from now on, when talking about "the M's," I'll just say, "The Commies" and everyone will know that's the code-word for them.

Or, we can just play, "The Or Not Game" so they don't know what we're talking about. LOLROTF. tongue.gif

She seems to be very happy, but I'm afraid to ask her if she wants me to redecorate because she might want me to call-in a decorator. I don't think her castle needs anything at the moment anyway. And there's lots of room inside to expand, even though it's 'loaded' already. It's only 5 months old. I took photos of it every step of the way during the building process, which include all of the 'open' photos. However, Kathleen wasn't a resident at the time. LOL. laugh.gif

LOL, I fear that she already has Alexandria, but my powers are greater than hers!!! laugh.gif

I just finished frame captures from 35 minutes into Part I through 1:13 minutes into Part I. Basically, I'm doing a frame-by-frame analysis of Kathleen's work. If anyone finds this boring, please let me know and I'll start to skip around. Personally, I like to work this way because I'm orderly and like to know where I am at any given moment, but some poeple might not care for it. .... Some people might consider it anal. LOLROTF!

I also changed my capture mode slightly to include the black borders rather than cropping them off. It saves time for me to keep them on the frames, but if you want them removed in the future, no problem.

You may find a few images from Finaqua blurred because Kathleen was pacing back and forth so rapidly in the scene.

Frames 17 - 49 will be uploaded in a while. I insist that you look at #27 because I think that it's one of the best so far. biggrin.gif

You know that I love you Smeagol. In fact I would do anything for you! So here is my plan .... I will disarm Kathleen with my charm and rip off her clothes. You'll then pick them up off the floor and run like the wind with them! You'd better be fast, because I'll only be able to distract Kathleen for between one and three hours. Get as far away as you can, so she won't find you. If she figures out our plot, I'll jump on top of her and keep her busy even longer, at my own personal sacrifice! I may end-up dead, but it'll be worth it.

Note: Kathleen is very small up top, it's the bustier that makes her look large. I happen to love small chested women. smile.gif

.... But right now I need coffee first, Kathleen second, the costume is third. wink.gif

Yes, she definitely looks evil Alexandria. So much so that they didn't even have to give her a riding-crop. LOL. But I'm sure that her powers are way above the need for such mortal things. wink.gif

It's almost impossible to find a bad 'frame' of her.

Well, we don't have to have one out of 'fairness' Alexandria, at least that's what AZ says. LOL. But DG seems to have 2 more fans than Kathleen does, according to the current poll. [AZ is not happy about this!] Therefore, I would have thought that someone would have started an appreciation thread for her sometime within the past 4 months.

Zooey's really 'good' photos seem to be on the porch with her parents, and she has a few good ones in the scenes in which she performs with Kathleen. I have a few already that are ready to be posted in this thread. It just seems to me that they deserve a home of their own. smile.gif

LOL, you should have asked me. I would have helped you. smile.gif You've got so many great captures of Neal! I'm sure that he's very proud of his thread!

You can always play the movie in full size mode and press "Print Screen" too. It's up on top of your keyboard, next to the "F12" key. Using that method preserves the proper aspect ratio.

It does seem odd that DG appears to be favored over AZ, yet she has no thread. Me thinks this favortism has something to do with Cain tho. wink.gif

That's what made Kathleen's performance soooo great Alexandria. She was having one of her 'schizophrenic moments' within this set of frames, where she was telling Zooey that they could be best friends and rule the OZ together. She was also reminding DG of all the things that they did together as children. LOL.

What a performance! I'm still reeling from it and I've only watched the DVD twice! .... (in addition to 2/3rds of the original TV movie).

I'm afraid to watch it again! I'm not sure how much my heart can take! LOL.

I've seen grade "B" movies from the 1950's and 60's that showed such goings on. In one original Star Trek episode, the men were forced to wear electronic collars to force them to do the woman's bidding! It was disgusting! <joke>

LOL. Nope, you're dead wrong WendyP. I wanted a different perspective of Kathleen's performance. I have so many headshots that these overhead camera shots were of real interest to me, since I'm in the industry. These show Kathleen's interaction with the other characters as well. Here are two images of my Desktop. Unfortunately, neither one does Kathleen's image justice, and I didn't use a flash so they might not be perfectly clear or in frame. Also my screen is tilted backwards so the enormity of the image is probably cut-down too. But you'll get the idea. The amazing thing is that there is a gold glow all around Kathleen's armor! I don't remember seeing it while watching the movie or during captures, but it extends about 1/4th of an inch all around her neck and shoulders. It looks so beautiful! biggrin.gif

Yes, it's definitely cool. The gold glow is visible when you watch the film and take the vidcaps, but I failed to notice it until now. I'm always watching Kathleen's eyes and lips, so I guess that I miss some of the surroundings.

My Desktop photo is 'warmer' than it appears here and you can see AZ's hair color in the front (above her forehead), whereas in the pictures here the front of her hair appears jet black.

Thanks Alexandria, but I'm afraid that I had nothing to do with how beautiful the desktop looks. .... You should be thanking Kathleen and her parents. laugh.gif

Unfortunately the Sci-Fi servers were crashing at the same time I was uploading and I uploaded the photos into the wrong PhotoBucket directory (my main directory instead of the Tin Man Part 2 subdirectory). I can move them, but then I'll have to re-link the photos again back into their messages. It'll be a real pain in the ***, although not a disaster. As long as they're numbered and filed properly on my computer, I probably shouldn't care. But then, I'm anal. LOL.

Here's my favorite from the Mystic Man death scene ....

I need to make a negative comment regarding Zooey's acting in this scene {What! Again?}. .... She should have been either screaming or throwing-up during this scene. It made no sense for her to just be standing there motionless as if she was watching a tennis match on TV. Even Azkadellia's Longcoats were making grimacing faces, Zooey just stood there like she was on drugs. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

I keep searching for reasons as to what was up with that??? blink.gif .... That's one of the big reasons that I'm looking towards bad direction in addition to poor acting!

While I generally have no complaints towards Zooey's acting I do agree with you about this scene. After all, wasn't she hoping that the Mystic Man would help her to find her past? Now that he's dead (and died right in front of her) wouldn't it make sense for her to freak out just a little? unsure.gif

I think that that had to do more with bad directing than the actors themselves. If you watch some of the behind the scenes footage (I'm still working my way through it) the directors very much tell the actors what to do at times.

I think that that had to do more with bad directing than the actors themselves. If you watch some of the behind the scenes footage (I'm still working my way through it) the directors very much tell the actors what to do at times.

I've only watched "The Making Of Tin Man" special scenes and interviews once EvenStar, but something really made me take notice. I don't know whether it was part of Nick Willing's interview, or whether he made this statement as a part of someone else's interview, but he said something to this effect. ....

Nick Willing: [I'm paraphrasing], "I like to keep things light and happy on the set ..... "

A Director's job isn't generally to keep things light and happy on the set. He's not supposed to be trying to be Emril Lagasse ("Happy, happy, happy.") The Director is the one who is supposed to have "the vision," and impart that vision to the actors and to the cinematographers. If an actor is good, then a bad director probably won't have much affect on their performance because the actor has already locked-onto their vision. But if an actor is weak or not hitting their mark, a bad director can really have a negative impact on the weak character's performance.

When you combine certain elements that were lacking in this production, along with the fact that Nick Willing didn't know what a blooper reel is supposed to be, I have to wonder whether or not Zooey's situation was in fact his fault! .... Not hers.

I'm just thinking out loud because this has been really bothering me. I've only watched the film twice because of this odd and persistent weakness. Aside from the fact that I don't want to fall in love with Kathleen any more than I already am. LOL. blink.gif

I have to agree with Model and EvenStar, that scene more than any other seems 'dead' to me. <No pun inteneded> The only man she knows in the OZ who knows anything about her mom, or where she is, gets murdered in front of her by her own sister while possesed by an evil witch and she has NO REACTION. That's a little beyond odd to me. wacko.gif

How did Kathleen end-up on the bottom again? .... Not that there's anything wrong with that either. <or not> wink.gif

Sixth down on the posting list is unacceptable! Especially since I added 7 or 8 new photos this morning. This will not stand. rolleyes.gif

I love this pix. It's great of her outfit, Model. Esp like the skirt how it drapes down at the bottom and shows off the curves at the top. "drapey" <Prob not a word, lol.> biggrin.gif

Yeah! What an hourglass shape her costume creates. Look at her tiny 22" waist! LOL. The natural flow of that Greek-styled skirt is unreal (drapes is a good word). biggrin.gif

BTW, I noticed that this set of images was slightly blurred while in freeze-frame. I have no idea why. .... Possibly the affect of standing in front of a green screen while filming? .... Not sure. unsure.gif

I feel your pain, Wendy! I did great with the first 3 kids, got my figure back, got my 18 in waist back. But, alas, number 4 killed me. sad.gif It wouldn't be so bad if I were taller, but I'm only 5ft 1, so EVERY pound counts. sad.gif But, it's allright, I'm well inot my 30's so I'll deal. GRRRRRRR sad.gif

Wow, I think the last time I had an 18" waist was well, never. I am 5'2" [if I lie about a 1/2 inch]. And frankly, I never looked as good in a bust booster as Kathleen. Got the bust maybe, but not the booster! lol.

Kids will do that to you, don't I know. I have about 20 years on you so I wish you good luck.
