I've been wanting to start a thread for the A/R fans for a while but I wasn't sure if shippers were accepted here, but seeing as how the Apollo/Starbuck one is going well, I figured why the hell not.
Anyway if you like the idea of Adama and Roslin together, as friends or you just like to talk about both of them- then this is the thread for you.
Share pics, recommend fic's, websites and discuss the developments regarding the uneasy alliance between our two main characters.

Okay, now that that's out of the way, I'll post some of my favorite sites for A/R shippy goodness. I'll just say I hope these two get together - but only at the end (or nearly the end) of the entire series. Underlying sexual tension is so much more fun to watch until then! Why I like Adama and Roslin?

I've always been interested in the dynamics of the relationships between the people in charge. I think that too often the possible sexual tension between those in charge doesn't get explored often enough, because it's such a huge challenge to maintain the command structure and to explore the personal lives of the characters.

I think though that this pairing has several things going for it;

1) Both characters are played by incredibly talented actors who have a very natural chemistry with each other.

2) The family theme- it's only natural to see Adama and Roslin as the father and mother of the fleet.

3) Their conflict is as interesting as their friendship. If they ever did get together it wouldn't be some sappy lovefest. I imagine that given how the writers have already handled the characters so far, the emotion and connection between the two of them would be handled with respect and dignity to their previously established character traits.

4) They need each other. Both professionally and I think personally they are coming to realise their importance to each other.

5) The cancer storyline, I'm interested to see how this will affect their friendship. She didn't tell him about the cancer, she is eventually going to get pretty sick, will this bring them closer? Will we see more to the characters personal lives through this very personal problem?
Who does Roslin have that will be by her side when the time comes?

Basically I think there are many possibilities regarding these two characters and even if there is never a romantic consequence to their friendship/conflict, I would love to see more of the both of them together.

I chuckled at your first line, RoslinIsG. It's funny we 'shippers were hesitant to post threads (I was too) when threads like "praise for the boobies" were popping up. I'm glad we 'shippers aren't alone.

I love the Adama/Roslin pairing, also. Not sure if I want to see them romantic, but I love the scenes b/t these two, and find them compelling viewing.

Favorite scenes so far: the talks in the miniseries, and in Home part 2.

By the way, funny story I read in an interview with the guy who plays Billy. He talked about the scene in the mini, when Roslin meets with Adama and tries to convince him to run. He said they did a number of takes, but weren't quite nailing it, and then in one take, when Laura says, "we better start having babies," EJO suddenly stood up, reached for his suit button, pointed at the desk, and said, "Let's go." He said everyone was laughing for so long, they couldn't retry the scene for a while.

You can count me in! I love both characters and I want them togther since the beginning! They are meant to be together and it would be an intersting "love story" I think, not a silly one for teenagers. I also love the sexual tension between them

As Roslin_is_Gorgeous and others here can attest, I have also been under the lash of my personal SuperMuse for the past few months, writing A/R fanfic and making an occasional icon. I'll try to post organized links a little later.

lol! That's too funny! There's also a part in David Eick's second video blog where the cast are reading the script for Home part 2. EJO is there via speakerphone and when he's reading the "well, maybe she saw it in a vision." part all the rest of the cast fake laughs very loudly, then Eddie yells "shut up! she says she see's things! She's seen me naked twice!" heeheehee. just thought I'd share. I love that video blog.

I love practically every moment they're on the screen. but okay, Miniseries: better start making babies, there is no earth; Tigh me Up Tigh me Down: the whole confrontation scene in the lab, everyone's expressions are priceless. Yep, I think I'll just nod and add an emphatic Me Too to that entire list. I was told to watch the show. So I did. After a marathon weekend a few days back, I was all caught up and trying to scrape my jaw off the floor because A/R was so amazing. OMG, the dance, the talk in Home, the UST... WOW! But terminal breast cancer? The angst! The impending doom!! I love it!!! Which must make me wildly masochistic, but yeah.

Yes it's hard to pick up a favorite scene! But I guess mine would have to be the dance scene! Before Adama asked her to dance I was saying to myself "go, invite her!" and he did and I was soooooooo happy!
Ans the reunion scene in Home part-2 when he tells her "it's good to see you" I want more of that!

Found ya'z guys!

Favorite scene - strangely enough - was Roslin trying to convince Adama to allow her to use the Raider just before everything went to heck. The contrast of her Presidential behavior with her open laughter is an excellent foreshadowing of Adama's near chattiness in Home2.

If I can figure out why all these dumb smiley's are winking at me... I'll try and post this O So Important Opinion.
