Yes, thar be spoilers here....

Wondering what everybody thought of the whole process of turning a Wraith into a human... seems you really can't take the Wraith out of 'em! <G> Connor Trinneer did a bang-up job as Michael.

Well cna't wait to seee this ep myself tonight...I loved the actor in Enterprise ...so I don't doubt he did a great job in this role...And it's always nice to see some of the Actors from my old favorite sci fi shows that have been canned, working on other new Sci fi shopws...rather than on lame mainstream tv sit-coms, life time movies or B-movie horror flicks or no where at all, alas.

Yeah, Connor Trinneer did a great job as Tucker on Enterprise! I'm sorta surprised it didn't do better in the Star Trek genre. But he does a great as Michael. The fight scenes with him and Ronon are awesome. Especially when Michael and Teyla are sparring and Ronon sees Michael's hand on Teyla's chest, then picks him up and slams him against the wall!! That was so hott!! That was a great scene! I can't wait til its on tonight.

It's an intense episode, quite good, that raises a lot of questions as to just what the Atlantis folk will do in order to defeat the Wraith....

That is SO not fair!!!!!! How come they get shown in Cananda months before the U.S?!

But about the episode . . . they should really listen to Ronon more often. He was right all along! Now there's a wraith out there with info on Atlantis! They should have killed him when they had the chance!

Like Ronon said, "You can make him look like a human and talk like a human but he'll STILL be a WRAITH!"

Unfortunately, they can't get Dex to look more human and less like a man-ape...

Speculating that perhaps having Trip as a Wraith that survives the episode leaves open a way to have him in further episodes as either a Super-Wraith or a Wraith Weak-Link, but at any rate looks to me like a build up to Wraith Wars Action towards the rest of this part of the season.

Also appears that having Atlantis ‘invisible’ for a while was a convenient way for the plots of many episodes to vary from the Human-Wraith conflicts into other directions, but bet they’ll be back on that track now. (not really betting, that takes something called money I’ve heard tell)

Actually, Atlantis aired earlier on a PAY cable channel (premium) so that not all of Canada got it, just those with that premium channel, so many Canucks have yet to see it too.

I am SOOOOOOO glad that I don't read spoilers! This ep took me COMPLETELY by surprise!

Conner Trinneer was terrific! This is the only thing I seen him in except "Enterprise". Fabulous acting.

I loved the way the first half of the show hinted that there was something very, very odd going on. I knew it had something to do with the Wraith, but that ole Doc Beckett had been testing his de-Wraithing serum.... That was unexpected. All the cast did an incredible job of portraying that subtle we're-hiding-something quality that Michael himself sensed. Great acting!

Terrific story-telling!

My only complaint was that they let a former Wraith roam about Atlantis. Even if that was to help him adjust better, they should still have had more concern about security. They should have severely limited his movements or done the whole experiment at the alternate site in the first place. That was a major slip of judgement for which I'm sure they will pay dearly in the future.

I think I remember in "Coup D'Etat" they even said something like, "We knew the Wraith would discover that Atlantis was still here eventually", or something like that. In this ep, didn't Weir say they would need "new strategy"? That invisibility thing was too good - and a little too convenient - to last.

Your right, DQ. He doesn't look like a man-ape. He looks like an ape-man.

Somebody complained that they were tired of Ronan going ballistic all the time, but I think Ronan was completely in character and completely appropriate in this ep. I loved the scene, just after Michael learns what he is, where Michael thanks Ronan telling him that, "You're the only one who's been honest with me from the beginning." In Ronan's sneering reply, Ronan used the word "Lieutenant", mockingly being "dishonest". Loved it!

Ronan's behavior in this ep reminded me of how he was in "Instinct". In that ep, he felt the same way, that you couldn't change what the Wraith really were.

I think there was some screen time saved in the editing of that scene, but I don't think there was anything missing. I actually think it was meant to convey something specific about the Wraith. Michael was transitioning between the human and Wraith sides of himself - another great Jeckyl/Hyde ep. Michael didn't want to hurt Teyla, so he released her after he had reached a place of safety for himself. Teyla should have run as soon as she woke up (minor plot flaw?). Even half-Wraith Michael hesitated, resisted the urge to feed on Teyla. Then the Wraith side took over.

In this ep, we learned as much about the Wraith as living beings than we have in all the rest of the series, including "Instinct" IMO. They have a genuuinely human side. That side is repressed inside them by the Wraith side as brutally as the Goa'uld repress the human side in them. In the case of the Wraith, however, it seems that the human side is mercifully oblivious of what the Wraith side is doing except in dreams and vague urges.

With the Wraith taken out of Michael, he was gentle, sincere, sensitive, considerate - a great human being. He was disturbed by the dreams and the urges. I wonder if all the human sides of all the Wraith are like that, or if they're as different in the human-side personalities as humans are.

over all i loved this ep....although i have to wonder why they told Micheal that he was in Atlantis when they know he's a wraith, they should of taken more precautions, but then again there wouldn't be the future ep Allies....
