FS sits on the veranda watching the storm clouds as it starts to rain in her Jayhawks T-shirt and drinking coffee. I actually like this place better. FS looks at the last post. April 6th? **** I better check out the new site again.

FS

i know what you mean FS, but i think that skiffy made a drastic error in going thru with the "membership migration"... its not a hardship for some peeps who signed up in the last year or so, but it seems like its the long time posters here who really got the shaft... that and the lackadasical attitude the moderation team has taken with the issue has realliy irked me the wrong way... and others i am sure... whats so bloody hard about posting a progress report once a week? they can certainly post "watch this crap this week" posts, but can supply word one to those left out in the cold?... it aint right... now, enough with my bitching...

Hope everybody is having a great day wink.gif

Yep..... Here I am..........

Gods I hate trying to log into this place. I log in, it says it doesn't recognize my information, so I try again and it says the same BS, I give up and decide I can still read what's been posted. SO I go to a board to read, then it shows me logged in?????? PHTTTTT.

Sipping tea, relaxing after spending the past 3 hours doing errands and grocery shopping/stocking. Cool thing at the store that I go to, it's bring the youngones to work day and the staff at the store had their kids helping them do everything, stocking, running the registers. It was really cool to see the kids working side by side with their parents. It's such a great store, always friendly, helpful. I may have to drive a couple of miles further, but SO very worth it.

Ummm....is it just me, or are things different around here???

Guess I'll have to spend some time reading back posts to get caught up. blink.gif

Sorry for the extended leave, but the real world got just a little bit wacko.gif .

Anyway, I hope to poke my head in a little more often and get caught up with all my Browncoat friends soon. wub.gif

OH MY GODS!!!! SHAY!!! <running flying tackle hug> biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif It's SO great to see you!!!

Yes things look different here...the handle I'm posting with, skiffy invented the same day they "upgraded" the board on Feb 12th. I've been in exile since then and only conceeded to use this dummy account to post at the insistance of friends just a few days ago. My old tbug handle (all lower case) is frozen up and I can't get to anything in it. INCLUDING that wonderful story you wote for me *cries* So if you sent me any pm's since Feb 12th then I haven't been able to accesss them.

I'll get around to adding an avi and sig maybe eventually...and I don't even care about my post count, but I do want all my pm's back...<sigh>

I missed you baby brother wub.gif

Hello All....

Sorry I have disappeared from the 'verse. It has been hectic around here...between work and trying to have a life.

I hope all is well with my fellow browncoats.

Just curious if anyone can confirm this....I was listing to one of the Firefly podcasts from Dec. and there was a clip from an interview with Alan saying that Universal received the numbers that would prompt them to make a Serenity 2....have any of you heard anything since to confirm this?

After Skiffy axed many of our handles in the "Upyoursgrade" of February, many Browncoats have migrated to a kinder, gentler, less-humped board at:

http://galacticabs.invisionzone.com/index.php?showforum=89

GBS runs on the same basic engine as Skiffy, so the transition is very easy. And, the folks there, including the BSG fans, are very welcoming.

Heyya, JWFAN! Nice to seeya, again. I still linger and lurk, a bit, though now I have to use the missus' handle, since Raycheetah is farkled, courtesy of the Skiffy IT monkeys.

Alan let drop some things he might not oughtta have, more wishful thinking than solid news. The bottom line is, the BDCE did far better than anyone expected, and Joss had told us that, if anything would convince Universal to make another Serenity movie, that BDCE sales would be it. Well, that still wasn't enough, but Alan, recalling Joss' words, was hopeful, and mentioned it, and the word spread... We ended up with a couple of very shiny, hopeful months, but nothing to show for it, except our BDHs pretty much affirming across the board that they would jump on any future work in Joss' 'Verse.

So, we hold.

Anyway, come on over to GBS and pay us a visit. You'll be glad you did!

Everything, huh???? Well, first the Earth cooled. Then, the dinosaurs came. But they got too big and died. They turned into oil. Then the Arabs came, and they bought Mercedes Benz. And then Prince Charles started wearing all of Lady Di's clothes. I couldn't believe it.......

Sorry, couldn't resist. laugh.gif

Anyhoo, still working for the same outfit, which has kept me busy. Last year I was one of three team leaders running services for one of the biggest tradeshows in the country, working more 12-14 hour days than I care to remember at this point! blink.gif But things ended up going well, and am now running a new project for the company that may become a major part of the company's advertising pitch. ohmy.gif The folk's are doing OK, though Dad has been diagnosed with diabetes. So far, no insulin shots. It's still controllable with diet and medications. The pups....... sad.gif that's another story. The older of the two, the husky Shade had to be put down right after I got back from the trip I left for, way back when. She developed an autoimmune disorder that could have killed her anytime from internal bleeding, and the folks felt it best she not suffer. It was tough to do though. sad.gif The beagle, Mercy, is doing alright, except for having blown out one knee (similar to a football injury). Every now and then she'll be limping and have trouble walking, but otherwise is still her usual cheerful self. The folks did decide to get another pup to take over Shade's "big dog/protection" job, and now have a German Shepherd named Shadow that's providing karma payback to Mercy for everything Mercy did to Shade as a puppy. On the subject of the kitty, it's all good news! She's doing fine and is still as adorable as ever. The husbear is also doing well. He did have minor surgery early this year to clear a blockage in his left femoral artery by having a stent put in. That went well and at some point he'll have to have the right done. (The right wasn't nearly as badly blocked as the left. 40% vs about 75% blocked.) But he's walking much more comfortably now that his left leg can get some blood flow. smile.gif

Glad to hear about your good health. biggrin.gif You've been in my thoughts and prayers every night while I was gone. Too bad about Bug's arthritis, but at least with the meds he can still get around. Just keep loving him and babying him as long as you can. wub.gif Give him some snurffles for me!

WOOHOO!!! Congratuations on the new project! biggrin.gif That's awesome! I'm happy you work for a company that appreciates you smile.gif

I'm sorry to hear of your dad's diabetes though...but I'm glad it's just at the diet and medicaiton state, and not at the insuline. Ah poor Shade...it's never easy no matter how many times you go through it <sigh> But they've gotten past the grieving point enough to get a new puppy so that's a positive thing smile.gif When you get a chance to post a pic of the new addition, I'd love to see it. Poor Mercy with the knee problem. Bugaboo limps somethin' fierce now so I understand how hard it is to see 'em in any kind of discomfort. Give your mom and dad extra hugs next time you see 'em for me? I'm grateful to them for having and raising you wub.gif

{{{{{{{{Husbear}}}}}}}} That poor sweetie! At least you found out about 'em and can fix 'em. Hug him too please? Thanks! And your precious princess kitty too! I'm SO happy that she's doing so well! biggrin.gif

Thanks for the prayers baby brother...I'm convinced they're the reason I've done so well...my sister too. Your name is always on my list as well smile.gif My family/friends in the ether are no less important that the RL ones. Most times more important wub.gif

I'll pass along the snurfles for you, he'll appreciate that smile.gif I'm laying on all the lovies I can (that he'll let me without complaining too much, lol) smile.gif

Hey does anyone play D&D (Dungeons & Dragons)? I've been playing for the last few months. One time I was playing a wizard and my character crit fumbled. She shot an arrow and the arrow came back and struck her in the head killing her. As the battle raged on I said my character's ghost was watching the battle. Our Cleric (My boyfriend) dispelled my ghost, the DM (dungeon Master) said that when I was hit my body fell into a chasam and was eaten by a dragon. Needless to say by the end of the battle my body had been digested so I had to make out another character sheet.

That would be the time where I, in French, say "WTF". Of course, as I'm still saying the letters themselves, it sounds mostly the same... [/tangent] How do you manage that sort of thing? "Yes, I'm going to shoot an arrow at you HOLYCRAP*thudded*" I've never found enough people to get together to play a game like that, but if I could, I'd round up some Browncoats and play the Serenity RPG.

Archersangel - Happy Belated Birthday!

Ttbug - sorry to hear about Bug's troubles. He's lucky you love him so much. Glad your check up went well.

Gotta love keeping out of trouble. Business slowed down so I've been trying to work on some projects around the house. The latest being stripping the wallpaper from the guest bath.

My son bought some dinosaurs, now he stages battles with them against his little green army men. I wonder where he got the idea? laugh.gif

Happy belated Birthday Ms. AA biggrin.gif

Thanks Ms. VSpun smile.gif Bug is actually doing a little better these last few days. I changed the way he got his meds, putting them all in his first few bites of food instead of diluted through his whole bowl. It's worked wonders too! I am SO relieved, I just can't begin to tell you how much. biggrin.gif Now instead of laying down to rest 6 or eight times during his outside trip, he's down to once smile.gif

Ugh...strippin' wallpaper ain't no picnic. I just helped my sister do mom's bathroom. We bought a steamer and everything but the MESS. We painted it this time, a beautiful palm frond green. Looks gorgeous too smile.gif

Love your son's idea of playtime, lol. Next thing ya know you're gonna nickname him Wash wub.gif

I hate when that happens! mad.gif laugh.gif

I've played D & D a few times. But, like Fizzix, had trouble rounding up enough people. I think I still have all my 4-, 6-, 10- and 20-sided dice around somewhere....... wink.gif

Got the wall paper off and 98% of the backing, it's the glue and sizing now. I hate washing walls. tongue.gif I have the largest one done.

I finally asked Son where he got the idea. Kid has a memory like his dad. "Safe, where girl River was playing behind the couch, the independents dinosaurs beat the alliance." His words, I'm amazed he remembered the episode title. laugh.gif So now the Independents are dinosaurs and the Purple Bellies are the green army men. rolleyes.gif Yep, train them when they are young. biggrin.gif He loves Firefly & Serenity. He usuallys asks once a month to watch the DVD's and I can thing of worse things for him to watch.

I hate when that happens! mad.gif laugh.gif

I've played D & D a few times. But, like Fizzix, had trouble rounding up enough people. I think I still have all my 4-, 6-, 10- and 20-sided dice around somewhere....... wink.gif

I still have mine, came across them while going through some boxes in my garage. Hub asked why I had them, I told him I'm a geek and smiled. I't been more than 20 years. I'm hoping my son will take intrest someday. He's learning chess and plays with his dad a couple of times a week, so he's starting to understand more complex rules than Shutes & Laders and Life.

LOL...that's awesome Ms. VSpun! He's incredibly intelligent for a youngster! biggrin.gif

I never played D&D...or any role playing type games. Still don't. I can't seem to get into video games...my hand to eye co-ordination sucks. That...and the fact that I have absolutely zero patience where video games are concerned. Ah well...such is life when you're on the 50 side of 40 smile.gif It's not like I mind...I'd much rather watch dvd's or read smile.gif

TGIF Y'all!!! biggrin.gif I hope all y'all have a fantastic weekend! biggrin.gif
