After the episode which will air on NBC on 1/29 and Sci Fi on 2/2 Heroes will no longer air on Sci Fi. Why did they choose to do this, With 24 coming back in 2 weeksI am really reliing on the Friday airing what is wrong with Sci Fi sad.gif

They are dumb... they cancelled Stargate SG-1 (okay yeah I understand why... but still) and are playing Wrestling... I truly believe the end of the world is upon us... Good thing for the Heroes!

For everyone with moronic sattlite companies that don't let you have local stations, scifi was the only way to watch heros on your couch.now you'll have to watch on your computer just like for Prison Break.
My sister is soooo gonna hate this development. mad.gif

Thats dumb. Why not air Heroes anymore?

Could it be because they are changing the sci-fi friday lineup?

How do you know that for sure? I just checked the schedulebot, and everything for February comes up with no listings at all now, whereas just a few days ago all of February's were available. I suppose they are making some changes for the month, so until that is available again I don't think you should panic.

Dr. Who's current season ended and season 3 just ended in the UK. Dr. Who will most likely be back on Sci Fi some time next year. As for Galactica the reason for the move to Sunday was because of lower then expected ratings due to stiffer competition and as a double wammy to help launch the new series the Dresden Files. In April Sci Fi Friday will return with all new episodes of SG1 (the final 10), Atlantis, and the new series Pain Killer Jane. Until then in Januray we get Jake 2.0, February Special Unit 2, and March Wolf Lake every Friday night in 3 hour strips. I hope that the schedule bot was srong and that Hereos will continue to air. I dont do online airing. NBC does own SciFi so it cna show it whenever it wants to. If any one find sout please let me know. Thanks! blink.gif

Probably someone's mess up. I doubt they would take it off. I know lots of people that catch the second showing because can't make it on monday. Either because of other shows or simply work.

Heroes doesn't show up on the shows page so guess its gone. So this forum will disappear soon. SciFi Friday is no more it looks like SciFi is putting their most popular stuff on Sunday, Mondays, Tuesdays.

While I'm normally pretty cynical about many of SciFi's recent programming decisions, this may not have been strictly a SciFi move. As it's been pointed out in another thread, 24 is coming back in competition with the NBC airing of Heroes. When fans can just wait until Friday and catch it on SciFi, there is less of an incentive for them to choose it over 24 on Mondays. I have a feeling this is more likely the reason this time.

That's a good point, contact, and I'm sure it's close to the truth. Probably the only reason NBC offered the repeats on Sci-Fi in the first place was to generate more interest in the show, and now that it has established a large viewership they will want them to be tuning in to the original broadcasts on the main network. I wouldn't doubt if Sci-Fi gets the repeats sometime this summer though.

It doesn't matter. If you miss it, just watch it later on the net. It's the new trend as I've stated before. The big broadcasters are offering their best programs on the internet at no cost to you after the air date. It's beginning to matter less and less when you choose to watch.

Not everyone has a broadband connection good enough to take advantage of the streaming video or B I T-T O R R E N T downloads.

ETA: Who would have thought that B-T was a word that would be filtered out?

1. You need a broadband connection.
2. The video is streamed to your PC. I don't know of a way to record this during playback.
3. You don't need to record since the broadcaster maintains the video for X amount of time. (It isn't available for ever.)

Quite a few sattelite providers do not have any local big 3 networks. And watching TV on your computer just isn't the same as kicking back on your couch with your fam or buds and watching. That is why I loved that scifi re aired the eps, most people around here get no ABC,NBC,CBS,or any of the others. Not even from east or west coast without signing up for a huge package that costs oodles of money. What a pain.

As I previously mentioned January brings fear to the other networks on Mnoday, Tuesday, and Wed nights thanks to 24 and American idol on FOX. There was an article in TV guide about how the other networks juggled their schedule to compete but not kill their shows, so my opinion is that Heroes which generates about the same ratings as first run episodes of Doctor Who and Galactica is being taken off Sci Fi for that main reason to force people to choose, well I choose 24. I will tape Heroes (and although I am quite a few weeks behind I willg et to it) Its not the same but 24 is 24 its a good show!

Just checked on TiVo and it looks like Heroes will stay on SciFi. They have eps 12 Godsend set to run on Jan 26th at 7:00.

Thank You Sci-Fi biggrin.gif
