I'm new to the board and I'm sorry in advance if this has come up before but what ever happened to Lex.

Years ago I used to watch it with my sister and it was like our guilty little pleasure. We used to love making fun of how bazaar the show was but we could never get enough. I had seen up to the point were the Lex gang had come to present day earth, and somehow the Giga Shadow was connected to Dracula or something (I can't remember exactly how it went as it has been years since I have seen the show). After that, Lex just disappeared . What happened? was there more to the story or was it canceled before the series had a conclusion?

Welcome to the board, HelloJohn. Lexx came to its natural end, all in the Cycles of Time. A Virtual Season is about to begin, so, if you have episodes preserved, or in your local library, you can join in and watch them on a weekly basis if you are interested.

There are other Lexx resources available which contain episode synopses, so if you want to know what came to pass be sure to go to the links and read up on them.

Hi and welcome. Lexx did air fully and end fully. The last new ep of season four (which had 24 episodes), ended in April of 2002. Sci fi did air re-runs of Lexx late at night for a season or so, then finally stopped airing it all together. They may not have licensing rights to air it anymore, I'm not sure. The show did come full circle, and it was sad to see it end. You can still purchase all the season on DVD if you want to get caught up on the show to see how it ended.

I really liked the first season of the series. The plots were well written and, come on, she was hot. The second season started to get boring especially with the explanation of how she had changed (part sandworm DNA?) but even I lost interest after the third season. A living space ship based on insects was cool though.

Yeah, it was a guilty pleasure. I hated it and loved it at the same time. Man, it could be so weird yet so...good (arrrrrrrrrggh - homer simpson)

Welcome back to something strange!

Actually you posted this so long ago I don't know if you've ever come back...haven't seen you nick on a new post lately...

If you've read some of the replies to your post it does cover most of the range of feelings we've all had or shared when Lexx was running new eps..I can still hardly believe that it has been 5 years....

One thing that was left out was about the way Lexx ended. It did come full circle and the 'Beans always had a vision of how they wanted it to end but The End that we were left with was really for the fans and was rare among series of any length...the producers knew that S4 would be the last and would be allowed to close on their terms and not by cancellation. I think if it had been canceled, SciFi would have never heard "the end" of it because Lexx fans, although few in number, are among the most loyal in the scifi genre. You can search on the history of Lexx fandom...fans even went so far as to take out a full page ad in a trade paper expressing support and gratitude and politely requesting that the series continue. Pretty rare then that was...

But back to The End...

They managed to keep the last season lighthearted and campy but still filled with drama and emotion. They managed to tie up a lot of loose ends and conclude a handful of arcs and storylines that ran through the entire TV series. I did feel that S3 and S4 were mixed bags in terms of quality, production and writing but somehow it all worked...at least it did for me. And through it all, I still can't remember a show that I was devoted to as Lexx.

It made me laugh and it made me cry and at times I couldn't believe the schlock and questioned my fanhood. But I loved and still love the show and the actors and recurring roles and the characters and the stories. No doubt that Lexx was at times a show very difficult to categorize or capture it's essence in a few or even many words. People who still write about it still find themselves having to leave out a lot about Lexx, myself definitely included. It was and continues to enigmatic in that way...even though the last original ep aired half a decade ago.

Whenever I tried to analyze it I found no shortage of things to complain about or slam, but shows like Lexx have a strange way of winking at the audience and shows are almost always much better if you just kick back and let it entertain you...and Lexx was exceptionally good at that if you just let it unroll in front of your eyes...

Ah but back to The End...It was both the end and the beginning...
"Lexx begins and then Lexx ends...
And then Lexx begins once again..."- The Time Prophet

Wiki has a solid source on the back story to what happened with Lexx.

If you don't have the DVDs, Joost is Lexx's current viewing home in most countries. Think Supernova is the only episode not viewable in the USA on Joost.

After watching the first episode, I felt it was too borderline pornographic for my taste.

I don't like to read fine print. What is Joust? I see you can download episodes. Is this free? Is it the virtual un-aired episodes or is it reruns?

Yeah I went out and bought the whole series on DVD. I was somewhat disapointed when it ended. I thought they sort of rushed the ending. It would be nice to see what becomes of Stan and Xev though.
