Heyyas!
I'm a regular Browncoat voter on Rich Labonte's TV Vote http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/ My favorite show, Firefly, has recently taken #1 in the top 40 "Best TV Shows of All Time" poll. Dark Shadows, for those of you not already nominating your show, is very close to breaking out of the nominee category, and, into the bottom of the top 40. ETA: You can vote for more than one show at a time; just check all the boxes you like, then submit your vote, once every hour. You can only nominate one show per hour: To nominate Dark Shadows, click on the NOMS link at the bottom of the page, and, type into the nomination window "Dark Shadows (1966)" to submit your vote. That will make sure the vote gets properly counted! Once Dark Shadows gets into the Top 40, you will be able to vote for it in the main voting menu, instead. Hercules: The Legendary Journeys currently has 36199 votes, in the #40 spot. Dark Shadows is third from the top of the nominees, at 27374 votes. Above you are Scoop at 28054 and Les Filles de Caleb at 33808 For some time, Dark Shadows has been expected to break out into the bottom of the top 40; to do so, it has to beat whatever the current total is for the lowest slot in the top 40 by at least 100 points. That will take some time, but, I have come to you folks for this reason: I have been nominating The Dresden Files for weeks, now, and, it's been awfully lonely. Nobody else seems to care enough to nominate it. So, I have been looking for an alternative, a show with the potential to get into the top 40, and to drive down the dreck that doesn't belong there. Dark Shadows was a favorite childhood nightmare, for me. I can still remember the music, the spooky sets, the terrifying inevitability of the evil which haunted Collinwood. Dark Shadows still resonates with me. I am prepared to cast my nomination votes for Dark Shadows, and, to continue to vote for it after it breaks out into the top 40. All I ask is that, you folks do the same. You have a passion for this show; demonstrate it! I will do my best to keep you folks apprised of the progress Dark Shadows is making; if you like, come visit the Firefly board, look for the pinned topic there to see how we're doing, as well. I will not be posting any progress reports from this Saturday, August 25 through the following Saturday, September 1, as I will be on vacation. Any internet time I can muster while away will be used to vote. By the way, you can vote in the top 40 for more than one show at a time, but can only nominate one show; you also don't have to vote in the top 40 to nominate, if you prefer not to. For a timed voting reminder, download FlyVote by FlyVote. It'll remind you it's time to vote every hour: http://usbmicro.com/misc. If you're on other Dark Shadows forums, please, feel free to post copies from this thread. It's a worthy show, far more so than a lot already in the top 40. Let's bring this show up outta the basement! -Raycheetah =^[.]^= -------------------- The enjoyment of any good thing is only enhanced by sharing it with others.

It's great to see everyone working together; day before yesterday, Blood Ties got a record 552 votes, and, on a Friday, to boot! Their voters are beginning to take notice, and, asked me to convey their thanks. It takes a while to build a habit, but, I think that they will be increasing their help to the rest of the shows in our little family, as time goes on.
Good morning, Dark Shadows fans! Today's update on TV Vote- http://richlabonte.net/tvvote http://www.richlabonte.net/tvvote http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/index.html ALL three links work for voting, so if you have trouble getting into the site in heavy traffic you can try an alternate address instead. I recommend bookmarking them all, for rapid transition, if you have trouble voting. You can vote for more than one show at a time; just check all the boxes you like, then submit your vote, once every hour. You can only nominate one show per hour. (Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes) #34 show: Total votes Queer as Folk 82,567 (82,500) Yesterday, QAF fans voted 67 times (53), 14 more than the previous day. #35 show: Total votes Dark Shadows (1966) 81,443 (81,061) Yesterday, Dark Shadows fans voted 378 times (414), 36 fewer than the previous day. Yesterday, the vote totals took a nosedive across the board; try not to be discouraged, and, look toward tomorrow. QAF is 1,124 (1,435) votes ahead of us. It will take us 3.61 (3.98) days to catch them, based on current voting levels (yesterday, our lead over them was 311 (361)/day). 67 consecutive days at 300+ daily votes. We still need to top our record of 524 votes in a day! We'll get our next banner, for 85,000 votes, in about 3,557 (3,935) votes, and, 9.41 (9.5) days! A deep and sincere thank you very much to everyone who is voting for Dark Shadows, including those who are just answering the call! With your help, we got Dark Shadows up into the Top 40, where it can get the attention it deserves, as a well-loved classic TV show! -Raycheetah =^[.]^= In other TV Vote news (shows whose voters also support Dark Shadows): Yesterday, Firefly got 840 votes (983), and, is 99,620 (99,207) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #26 show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation 98,713. Your help makes that possible! Thanks! #5 show Battlestar Galactica got 418 (492) votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to overtake #4 show, Gunsmoke, which got 352 (381) votes, yesterday, in 619.56 (368.98) days, or, 1.72 (1.01) years. BSG is also in pursuit of the 5th Hall of Fame slot, and, is 34,721 (35,139) votes, and, 83.06 (71.42) days, away! BSG could use some help, folks, if they are to make any headway against the westerns in the Top 5, and, they have extended us their voting support, as well, and, were instrumental in getting Dark Shadows into the Top 40. #7 show Buffy got 383 (525) votes, yesterday. Currently, Buffy is receiving enough votes to pass #6 show Farscape, which received 300 (343) votes, yesterday, in 274.13 (125.47) days. Buffy is also in pursuit of the 6th Hall of Fame slot, and, is 61,850 (62,233) votes, and, 161.49 (118.54) days, away, while Farscape is only 130.32 (114.86) days from getting there, first. #11 show Angel got 349 (454) votes, and, is currently receiving enough votes to pass #10 show La Femme Nikita, which received 147 (181) votes, yesterday, in 26.02 (20) days. #12 show Little House on the Prairie got 340 (349) votes, and, is not currently receiving enough votes to pass Angel. #43 show (#3 in the Nominations Poll) Blood Ties got 408 (552) votes, and, is on track to overtake #42 show The Professionals, which got 156 (156) votes, in 21.56 (14.36) days. Thanks, again, for your time, and, for your support of these great shows! P.S.: For those who are interested in Moonlight in the Nominations Poll: #54 show (#14 in the Nominations Poll) Moonlight Total votes 13,272 (13,042) Moonlight got 230 (265) votes, yesterday, not passing any shows. It will take about another 6 days to pass The Waltons. -RC =^[.]^= -------------------- "You all got on this boat for different reasons, but you all come to the same place. A year from now, ten, they'll swing back to the belief that they can make people - better. And I do not hold to that. So no more running. I aim to misbehave."

Jumping in with a concern. Raycheetah, have you seen or heard from MyDearVictoria? Her last active date was Feb 13th. I wonder if she is having trouble getting in. Thanks for your concern, SuperMac! That was one reason I posted the Login difficulties thread on this board; it seemed that some of our regular posters, including MyDearVictoria, weren't arround after the "improvements" Skiffy made, earlier this month. MyDearVictoria has made contact through the email address kindly provided by Battlestar Galactica fan Rowanofaltair. You can PM Rowanofaltair with direct contact information, if you want her to pass it along to MyDearVictoria, whose handle has been added to the list for Admin to get corrected and functional, again. BSG is also in pursuit of the 5th Hall of Fame slot, and, is 32,536 (33,086) votes, and, 59.16 (57.94) days, away! BSG could use some help, folks, if they are to make any headway against the westerns in the Top 5, and, they have extended us their voting support, as well, and, were instrumental in getting Dark Shadows into the Top 40. #7 show Buffy got 535 (566) votes, yesterday. Currently, Buffy is receiving enough votes to pass #6 show Farscape, which received 375 (343) votes, yesterday, in 138.44 (100.05) days. Thanks, again, for your time, and, for your support of these great shows! P.S.: For those who are interested in Moonlight in the Nominations Poll: #54 show (#14 in the Nominations Poll) Moonlight Total votes 14,261 (13,986) Moonlight got 275 (231) votes, yesterday, not passing any shows. "...vote a lot for a new stop?" I believe that was supposed to read "[F]or a new spot," i.e., #33 in the Poll, which isn't far off, now! Saturday: The new, voting Friday? A great day for Dark Shadows, but, not for many of our friends! Yesterday was like a stock market crash, on TV Vote. Even Jericho didn't break 500 daily votes, yesterday, and, with a few exceptions, daily totals were abysmal across the board. Hopefully, whatever was at fault will have leveled out, and, we'll see some decent totals, tomorrow. While it wasn't just us, falling below 800 votes for Firefly is not a good trend. On the other hand, Dark Shadows actually advanced its totals, taking advantage of JAG's falloff to move even closer to taking its position. (Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes) #33 show: JAG 85,824 (85,669) Yesterday, JAG fans voted 155 times (185), 30 fewer than the previous day. #34 show: Total votes Dark Shadows (1966) 84,564 (84,111) Yesterday, Dark Shadows fans voted 453 times (443), 10 more than the previous day, better than recent trends have been, especially yesterday. The support of multiple friendly fandoms helped us weather whatever happened, yesterday; while many shows were short some votes, enough fans from each show also voted for Dark Shadows to actually help stave off the plunge that everyone else took... Another reason to return the favor. JAG is 1,260 (1,558) votes ahead of us. It will take us 4.23 (6.04) days to catch them, based on current voting levels (yesterday, our lead over them was 298 (258)/day). 74 consecutive days at 300+ daily votes; 7 at 400+. We still need to top our record of 524 votes in a day! We'll get our next banner, for 85,000 votes, in about 436 (889) votes, and, .96 (2.01) days! Look for it, tomorrow! With your help, we got Dark Shadows up into the Top 40, where it can get the attention it deserves, as a well-loved classic TV show! -Raycheetah =^[.]^= In other TV Vote news (shows whose voters also support Dark Shadows): Yesterday, Firefly got 797 votes (956), and, is 103,307 (102,951) votes ahead of Xena, more than the vote total of #25 show Star Trek: The Next Generation 103,246. We're now over 100,000 votes in the lead! That puts us at 21,693 (22,049) votes away from a 125k vote lead, about 60.94 (41.92) days! Your help makes that possible! BSG could use your help, folks, if they are to make any headway against the westerns in the Top 5, and, they have extended us their voting support, as well, and, were instrumental in getting Dark Shadows into the Top 40. #7 show Buffy got 446 (488) votes, yesterday. Currently, Buffy is receiving enough votes to pass #6 show Farscape, which received 324 (347) votes, yesterday, in 178.1 (154.96) days. We got our 85,000 banner!! The picture is a wonderful on from the earlier episodes where Barnabas was trying to control and turn Maggie into Josette. Very eerie storyline! ![]() Thanks, Jackie! Nice to see we got another banner, both Firefly and Dark Shadows! We also saw a MUCH improved voting day, yesterday; based on the shows affected, it appears certain that our new friends, the Blood Ties Nominations voters, are making a strong contribution! Please return them their kindness, if you have the Nominations votes to spare.
