Thanks for letting us know how we can also vote for your shows.. I never knew that. I have been voting faithfully for yours along with Blood ties since I found out and will continue to do so. Blood Ties is doing great with the tv vote, thank you to all of you for your help. Now we just need to keep downloading he game and sending in those post cards and keep on fighting for our show. Thanks again everyone. Thanks, Trishaq! I've just completed a whirlwind tour of the internet, this morning, posting to the various TV Vote groups and fandoms about Blood Ties; here's a good example (pretty much a carbon-copy) of what I said (adjusted depending on the fandom in question): http://forums.scifi.com/index.php?showtopi...p;#entry4874853 *Snip* for length... AND... Let's all extend a friendly, Browncoat welcome to the Nominations voters of Blood Ties! Blood Ties is a current vampire program, whose fandom is struggling, after only 22 episodes, to get their show renewed (sound familiar?). Judge for yourself how good it is by viewing it for free online (use the "Select an episode" drop-down menu to see different eps) at: http://www.mylifetime.com/on-tv/shows/bloo...od-price-part-1 Blood Ties voters are now joining ranks with us, extending their Top 40 votes to the shows in our family of friends. While it may take a while for the results to show in the daily totals, Blood Ties got a total of 511 votes, yesterday, so, the potentials of their generosity are substantial. Please return their gesture with at least some of your Nominations votes, as well, and, please, view their episodes, free, online at the link above. The more folks who view their show, the likelier that Lifetime will pick it back up, again. Once you've seen a few episodes, you might also play the online game: http://www.mylifetime.com/fun-games/games/puzzle/blood-ties This is another way Lifetime is gauging interest in the show, which, in your faithful Tallymister's opinion, is pretty gorram good! And, if you would like to find out more about the show, as well as efforts to save it, you can look at: http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/saveblood...yguid=322589985 Once again, welcome to the Blood Ties fans; let's give 'em a warm welcome, mebbe see how many of 'em wanna become Browncoats, as well! -RC =^[.]^= So, I am hopeful that the word will start to spread about Blood Ties; we Browncoats, in particular, are fond of causes, so, I am optimistic that the response will be good. Today's update on TV Vote- Top 40 Poll: http://richlabonte.net/tvvote http://www.richlabonte.net/tvvote http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/index.html ALL three links work for voting in the Top 40 Poll, so if you have trouble getting into the site in heavy traffic you can try an alternate address instead. I recommend bookmarking them all, for rapid transition, if you have trouble voting. Nominations Poll: http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/nominations.html You can vote for more than one Top 40 show at a time; just check all the boxes you like, then submit your vote, once every hour. You can only nominate one show per hour. (Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes) There's a bit of a change-up, depending on which show is #40 at the time Blood Ties makes the pass (both shows might fall to Blood Ties within a day or so, if not on the very same day): Projected #40 show at time of intercept: Northern Exposure 71,635 (71,506) 129 votes (134). 36,248 (36,630) ahead of Blood Ties (including requisite 100 vote advantage required to pass #40 show); will be caught in 94.89 (94.41) days. Current #40 show: Cleopatra 2525 67,618 (67,433) 185 votes (178). 32,231 (32,557) ahead of Blood Ties (including requisite 100 vote advantage required to pass #40 show); will be caught in 98.87 (94.64) days. #41 show: Hercules: The Legendary Journeys 60,440 (60,329) 111 votes (120). 24,953 (25,353) ahead of Blood Ties; will be caught in 62.38 (63.07) days. #42 show: The Professionals (1977) 41,927 (41,792) 135 votes (144). 6,440 (6,816) ahead of Blood Ties; will be caught in 17.13 (18.03) days. #43 show: Blood Ties (2006) 35,487 (34,976) 511 votes (522). These target levels will vary, depending on how well each show does on daily votes. The Hercules voters are now squeezing more votes out than they had been. The more consistently Blood Ties voters can achieve higher daily totals, the faster that time will diminish, just as it has been! As always, your faithful Tallymister would be grateful for your Top 40 votes for the shows he supports: Firefly, BSG, Buffy, Angel, Babylon 5, and, Dark Shadows. I am in the process of letting those voting fandoms know of the help you are extending to them, in order to provide them the opportunity to reciprocate (thus, boosting Blood Ties into the Top 40 even faster!). It will also make Blood Ties important to them, as well, and, help expand awareness of the show, as well as the fandom. Welcome to the family! -Tallymister Raycheetah =^[.]^= -------------------- "You all got on this boat for different reasons, but you all come to the same place. So now I'm asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. 'Cause as sure as I know anything, I know this: They will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground, swept clean. A year from now, ten, they'll swing back to the belief that they can make people - better. And I do not hold to that. So no more running. I aim to misbehave."

Here's an article on the possibility of getting Blood Ties renewed:
"Could Blood Ties Come Back?!" http://www.eonline.com/gossip/kristin/deta...48-c5e6817daf56 "Fans, your voices have been heard! When I posted our TV Throwdown, I asked you guys to email me if a show you loved was missing from the list. Fans of Lifetime's canceled vampire drama, Blood Ties, responded in droves. If you haven't been watching, here's how fan Tami Z. describes it: "Blood Ties should be on the list of best shows of 2007! It's a great drama about a take-charge woman P.I. that teams up with a sexy vampire to solve 'strange' cases, which also tend to involve her ex-partner/lover cop. The great chemistry among the three main actors (Christina Cox, Kyle Schmid and Dylan Neal) combine with the witty one-liners to make this show completely addicting. You can watch the past 22 episodes on Lifetime's Website. It's a crime drama you can really sink your teeth into! (Pun totally intended.)" Not that I don't love any show that generates bad puns, but since Blood had been booted from the airwaves, as a dead show it was disqualified from the poll...right? Not so fast! Because so many of you were so passionate about this series, I did some digging (I've learned never to underestimate a rabid fanbase), and lo and behold, there is hope! According to Blood Ties executive producer Randy Zalken, even though the show is off the air in the States, all is not lost. When asked about possibly getting the show back into production, he says, "We're hopeful." Why? Because of fans like you. According to Zalken, "We're very happy with the support of the online fans," and he thinks the built-in audience is strong enough to attract new backers to the show. So, here's the sitch: Who Can Bring It Back: The series is Canadian, and according to Zalken, "Some of the Canadian broadcasters have said, 'Yeah, we're interested in it; let us know what and when and how.' We're also hopeful that a new home in the U.S. will present itself." The series would likely need financing from both a Canadian and an American network if it were to pull off a second season. Sci Fi? SoapNet? Starz? Which nets do you think should take a look? Why It Stands Out During the Strike: According to Zalken, "I don't think the strike is going to hurt us, because Canadian writers are not hindered by the U.S. guild rules. So, we can be delivering new shows for the fall... I guess that's more than a lot of producers are saying now." That's good news for fans and Blood Ties staffers, but it's probably less exciting for our local American writer pals, as it could alleviate some of the pressure they're attempting to put on American conglomutainment outlets. What's at the Ready: Should a vampire-friendly guardian angel with deep pockets happen to fall out of the sky tomorrow, the show could resume production relatively quickly, says Zalken. "The sets are still available—they've not been destroyed—our talent is very eager to come back, and our show runner, Peter Mohan, is standing by." Post your feelings about Blood Ties below, and with any luck, a curious passerby with a big fat network budget will happen upon the scene and realize exactly how beloved this series is by you, the fans. —With reporting by Jennifer Godwin" Please read and post comments. I wrote, "All Blood Ties needs is exposure. My wife and I discovered Blood Ties only a couple of months ago, and, we love it. She even ordered the region 2 DVD (to play on a region-free DVD player) from Amazon.com UK, and, we've been watching it every night this week. But, many people who would absolutely love this great show are completely oblivious to it. It's not exactly like Lifetime has promoted it out in public, and, many who never turn to Lifetime have simply missed out. Blood Ties needs a massive, grassroots publicity campaign, to get people to watch the episodes online, play the game, and, to spread the show by word of mouth. I'm talking email campaigns, fliers, a blitz. That way, we can prove the value of the show as a property to Lifetime, or, to whoever else might take it on. Get the word out!" Yours in the cause, -Raycheetah =^[.]^= -------------------- "You all got on this boat for different reasons, but you all come to the same place. So now I'm asking more of you than I have before. Watched a couple more shows of Blood Ties last night. I really like
the dynamic. Vicky and Henry reminds me of another two. It seems like the idea of a Vampire and a female that is strong willed is a good formula. Been supporting all my friends. DSF54 -------------------- Check Dark Shadows 1966

Ray, thanks so much for all your support! We really appreciate you getting the word out about Blood Ties. Since reading your post about voting for shows in the top 40, I have voted for your shows and Blood Ties every hour. I will continue to help all the shows I can. I really believe in Blood Ties. If we can just get more people to give it a chance, then I think it will really take off.

It'd also be an opportunity to *gently* promote the show. Y'know, I was just scanning the Lifetime Blood Ties MB (nope, not gonna go back there to post). However, one poster did mention a need to have something media-worthy that Blood Ties fans could do, aside from sending annoying junk to the LT mailroom clerks.
Firefly fans have gotten a lot of good press for doing charity work (I did mention that Browncoats love a good cause!). Well, if you're not afraid of needles (as I am, sadly), how about a national Blood Ties Blood Drive? All you have to do is contact local blood banks, and, find out what they need to have a blood mobile or equivalent at a given site, or, barring that, to host a scheduled blood drive. Then, you start gathering pledges from donors, and, you hit the press with it, hard! I think you can imagine how that would bring a positive focus on Blood Ties from the public. And, if you can coordinate it in enough places at once, you could even try to get a Guinness record or some such (might want to contact them, first) for biggest mass blood drive. The nice thing is, this is something you can do over and over again. The blood banks will love you, you'll be doing a great public service, and, best of all, it's a positive and VERY distinctive link to Blood Ties. Just a suggestion. -Raycheetah =^[.]^= -------------------- "You all got on this boat for different reasons, but you all come to the same place. So now I'm asking more of you than I have before. Also, your idea for a national blood drive is very good. I actually think that some of the fans might have tried something like that already. But if they did, it was on a much smaller scale and I don't think it worked too well. If we get organized and take it to the press, as you've suggested, then it might turn out very well. The significant difference between Moonlight and Blood Ties, which I post here without dropping a massive spoiler, is that, unlike Mick, who hasn't yet lived past a normal human lifespan, Henry is centuries old, and, having gone through all of that, has grown accustomed too, even comfortable with, his condition. So, while Mick could be said to be a "baby" vampire, in terms of his experience with it, Henry has already matured into it, providing a nice contrast between the two characters. Another significant difference I've noticed is the fact that the vampires on Blood Ties are VERY territorial and don't tolerate other vamps in their area. On Moonlight, vampires live in the same city, some socialize together and have spouses. -------------------- ~Jackie~

Thank you for the article. I am an avid Blood Ties fan, as you can see by my screen name. I have been fighting to get another season of this show along with an every growing fan base. I hope that some people that have either never heard of Blood Ties or have resisted watching it, give in and watch some or all of the episodes. I believe you will find, like many of us have that the show is truely addicting. Without spoiling it for you, the last episode is truely a cliffhanger and one of many reasons we have to have another season. We are left with the nagging , what's next question. So, I hope once you give in and watch the show, you will join us in our fight to get another season of this great show. Blood Ties Forever! I agree, BTF, the last episode really makes me wonder if Henry SPOILER: leaves Toronto and if ... the cop, just forgot his name!!, might leave too! Vicki might be left alone and still in danger.... now they have to continue this. -------------------- ~Jackie~

I really love Blood Ties and Moonlight! I just got my Blood Ties DVD from the UK and they play great on my region free DVD player! I think there are some differences in the music and in the opening credits, but I don't care I love it all. I've got the iTunes Blood Ties & Moonlight so I can vamp out any time. There are also some great fan fics out there if you are jonesing for more! Some writers are incredibly creative and talented! For those who want a little more HENRY, check this out. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=1cWq8QkcMo0 Cya! That's a wonderful video. Loved the music and pix. Now I can make some tags from them. I'm also trying to get more people to use this thread so that we can have some interesting discussions. If you ever have any questions or things you want to discuss about Blood Ties, please let me know. Thanks, EBG141! I'm still spreading the word on Blood Ties, trying to put it in front of as many fans as possible. Oh, and, your sig is GREAT! As for the Blood Ties Blood Drive, it depends on how organized the fandom can get. It might even be worth joining forces with fans of another show, say, Moonlight, to increase the numerical base (and, the fandom); the press would probably like that, even more! Might even be able to make it a pledge drive challenge! Last night, this handle shut down. I tried it again, this morning (my regular handle still doesn't work), and, got lucky, so, I don't know how long I'll still be able to post replies, here. I started a thread on another forum, one the BSG folks have kindly invited Skiffy refugees to use, at: http://galacticabs.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=3372 It will, for now, incorporate Dark Shadows, Moonlight, and, Blood Ties information, until I can wangle a sub-forum for Vampire shows. Please come there, as well, as, that thread is in front of the most active current fandom on Skiffy (BSG is still in production, and, the BSG Colonials are a very busy group), which is fertile ground for boosting Blood Ties. We can still keep discussion going, here, even if my own posting is spotty, right now. More info about the various efforts to save Blood Ties would be great, especially any news from outside the fandom. Finally! I managed to register with SciFi -- it was something of an ordeal. Just wanted to let the Dark Shadows fans (actually, I'm one too, I remember Barnabus Collins, and racing home from school to get there in time for the whole show) that I'm voting for them at TV Vote, and nominating Blood Ties, my new found love. Welcome, 50strander! Glad you could make it (and, hope you still can)! If you would, please, kindly vote for the other shows in the cooperative (Firefly, BSG, Buffy, Angel, Babylon 5), as well. Your support for those shows garners their gratitude and support (as well as interest in) Dark Shadows and Blood Ties. Another significant difference I've noticed is the fact that the vampires on Blood Ties are VERY territorial and don't tolerate other vamps in their area. On Moonlight, vampires live in the same city, some socialize together and have spouses. A very good point! Interesting how the different vampire "cultures" presented compare. I'm still not through the Blood Ties episodes, having caught up, in order, finally, with where I has watched, before, and, now moving past "5:55" into eps I haven't seen at all. I'm looking forward to being able to discuss them (on a spoiler-warning thread), once I've seen them all. Today's update on TV Vote-
Top 40 Poll: http://richlabonte.net/tvvote http://www.richlabonte.net/tvvote http://richlabonte.net/tvvote/index.html ALL three links work for voting in the Top 40 Poll, so if you have trouble getting into the site in heavy traffic you can try an alternate address instead. (Statistics in parentheses are previous day's stats, for comparison purposes) There's a bit of a change-up, depending on which show is #40 at the time Blood Ties makes the pass (both shows might fall to Blood Ties within a few days of each other.): Projected #40 show at time of intercept: Northern Exposure 71,899 (71,758) 141 votes (123). 35,447 (35,858) ahead of Blood Ties (including requisite 100 vote advantage required to pass #40 show); will be caught in 86.25 (91.94) days. Current #40 show: Cleopatra 2525 68,013 (67,819) 194 votes (201). 31,561 (31,919) ahead of Blood Ties (including requisite 100 vote advantage required to pass #40 show); will be caught in 88.16 (102.3) days. #41 show: Hercules: The Legendary Journeys 60,632 (60,549) 83 votes (109). 24,080 (24,549) ahead of Blood Ties; will be caught in 51.34 (60.76) days. #42 show: The Professionals (1977) 42,238 (42,082) 156 votes (155). 5,686 (6,082) ahead of Blood Ties; will be caught in 14.36 (16.99) days. #43 show: Blood Ties (2006) 36,552 (36,000) 552 votes (513). That's ANOTHER new record for Blood Ties, and, on a Friday, to boot! I think some of that boost is the beginning of the support we can expect from the friendly voting fandoms I mention, below. As always, the target levels will vary, depending on how well each show does on daily votes. I think that Blood Ties needs to be back on the air. I have been voting for Blood Ties and the rest of my Friends.
I think that it is great that Blood Ties got more than Xena the number two show on TV Vote. Very well done. Lori -------------------- Check Dark Shadows 1966

I think that Blood Ties needs to be back on the air. I have been voting for Blood Ties and the rest of my Friends. I think that it is great that Blood Ties got more than Xena the number two show on TV Vote. Very well done. Lori It's great to see everyone working together; day before yesterday, Blood Ties got a record 552 votes, and, on a Friday, to boot! Their voters are beginning to take notice, and, asked me to convey their thanks. It takes a while to build a habit, but, I think that they will be increasing their help to the rest of the shows in our little family, as time goes on. However, yesterday, the vote totals took a nosedive across the board; let's try not to be discouraged, and, instead, look toward tomorrow. Current #40 show: Cleopatra 2525 68,196 (68,013) 183 votes (194). 31,336 (31,561) ahead of Blood Ties (including requisite 100 vote advantage required to pass #40 show); will be caught in 139.27 (88.16) days. #41 show: Hercules: The Legendary Journeys 60,707 (60,632) 75 votes (83). 23,747 (24,080) ahead of Blood Ties; will be caught in 71.31 (51.34) days. #42 show: The Professionals (1977) 42,394 (42,238) 156 votes (156). 5,434 (5,686) ahead of Blood Ties; will be caught in 21.56 (14.36) days. #43 show: Blood Ties (2006) 36,960 (36,552) 408 votes (552). As always, the target levels will vary, depending on how well each show does on daily votes. As indicated, yesterday's totals were off quite a bit, especially among normally high-scoring shows (such as Blood Ties), which are more sensitive to changes in the voting. As always, your faithful Tallymister would be grateful for your Top 40 votes for the shows he supports: Firefly, BSG, Buffy, Angel, Babylon 5, and, Dark Shadows. As always, the target levels will vary, depending on how well each show does on daily votes. Yesterday was an improvement over the previous day's drop; however, there is still room for further recovery. Today is US Presidents' Day, which means that some voters who regularly vote from work may not be in front of their computers, as much. As a result, daily totals may not normalize until the scores have posted on Wednesday. As always, your faithful Tallymister would be grateful for your Top 40 votes for the shows he supports: Firefly, BSG, Buffy, Angel, Babylon 5, and, Dark Shadows. Thanks, EBG141! I'm still spreading the word on Blood Ties, trying to put it in front of as many fans as possible. Oh, and, your sig is GREAT! It's been hard to spread the word about this thread, especially on the LT message board, because people post so often. But it's good that you've been writing on the Save Blood Ties page. Hopefully we can get more people onto this board soon. I think it would be nice to have some of the regulars posting here regularly. I personally don't have as much info about the up-to-the-date happenings. So maybe we can get some more people here with some more info. And I'm glad you like my signature. I hope it's catchy enough. -------------------- Save Blood Ties!

Thanks, EBG141! Yeah, that's why I gave up on the LT MB (well, that, and, certain posters who like to leave their caps lock key on =^[.]~=). But, the more folks who get involved in the voting cooperative, the more definite the results will become, both ways. I was tempted to credit Blood Ties voters with an upswing in totals on several shows, today, but, it's premature to say, since, it could just as easily be the result of a post-slump surge. Still, I think that the Blood Ties voters are starting to make a significant contribution, and, I want to be able to confidently encourage the other voters to reciprocate. Your sig took me by surprise; it's VERY good! It looks like we're just about past the doldrums; while Blood Ties had a nice recovery, it is still far from where it has been, and, where it will go. as far as daily vote totals are concerned.
