All of you who like this show should write to the Sci Fi Channel NOW!!! Sci Fi said that it was only a pilot for a potential series (obviously, depending on ratings and fan reviews for a green-light) . Yes, they do have a website that mentions the "upcoming series" (which is conflicting with their press release), but I just noticed the ratings for the show as posted on the Sci Fi Wire. During the week of the pilot's first airing, it received a 0.9 household rating. I'm not sure how that translates to amount of viewers, but Sci Fi usually cancels any show that gets below a 1.0 in the household ratings on average! The following week's ratings were also posted and the second airing of the pilot wasn't even in Sci Fi's top 10 (it must have gotten below a 0.9 rating for that week) . So, the chances of Sci Fi going ahead with the series MAY be slim!!

I believe that many people were confused about when and where it was going to premiere: 1) The premiere was moved a week earlier than was advertised on Sci Fi, their website, and various TV guides - I only found out about the new premiere date by chance of reading a certain website the very day that it premiered! If I hadn't read it, I wouldn't have tuned in until the next week. And 2) The History Channel premiering their series with the same name on the same night and timeslot didn't help matters! I think many viewers may have been confused, thinking that both shows were one and the same. I know that I was confused! I watch both the Sci Fi Channel and History Channel on a regular basis, so when I saw the advertisements for both shows on both channels, I thought that I was mistaken about the show airing on Sci Fi. (I know that everyone has already gone over all of this, but it bares repeating. )

I know that some viewers didn't like this show for various reasons, but I liked it much better than History Channel's show. (I like the Hist. Ch. show too, but three things bother me about THAT show: 1) The constant zooming in and out of the camera focus during the entire show to look artsy-fartsy. It looks extremely unprofessional and is annoying!! ; 2) The cases are ALL extremely old "cold cases" and any evidence that MAY be left behind after so many years is inconclusive (or there is no evidence) ; and 3) The lead investigator (the older man - publisher of UFO Magazine) is always blinking his eyes hard and rapidly. Maybe he has a medical condition that he can't help, but it irritates me to watch him! ) . I think that Sci Fi's show needs a fair chance of at least several episodes to evolve and get better. I've waited for a long time (years) for a weekly UFO investigation show, like this potential series, to be made and now it may be in jeopardy of never airing again. That ****** me off!!

So, all of you who liked the pilot, should help save the show by writing to the Sci Fi Channel and telling them that you liked it and want the series to go ahead. Send a letter or an e-mail to them right now before they decide on it (someone on this board said that they would decide THIS week - don't know if that is true) . You all can make a difference! Also, suggest a new night and time for it so that it won't go up against the Hist. Ch. show anymore. Maybe Friday nights after a Stargate SG-1 rerun would be a better timeslot for the show?? And please, if you did NOT like it, then don't write Sci Fi. After all, if the show does continue, those of you who DON'T like it can just not watch it, right? The rest of us will be happy to tune in.

Thanks.

There may be a number of creative improvements to UFO Hunters that producers might engage; fundamental to the process capturing viewship is the producer's view of its own mission. Consider the impact instead of a slight name change from UFO Hunters to UFO Finders. Which program would you be drawn to watch? Which program asserts an audacity and boldness of presenting new ideas and new material?

My posts on these matters can be found here

To reach producers may be such a heavily filtered process that our comments fail to get through. Better if someone could list by name the following information:

Producer's Names
Producer's Addresses
Producer's Phone Number
Producer's direct email

I would only want this show to return if they can come back with more credible episodes.

The pilot was horrible.

I was emailing the guys at NY-SPI and apparently it is true that the show hasn't been picked up but it hasn't been cancelled either. They said the best way to get your comments to the network is to email them at feedback@scifi.com . Everyone who wants to see more shows should email the network and tell them ASAP.

hello,
I thought the show was pretty good imo. maybe better than history channels. It would be kind of wierd to cancel it after only one airing but whatever. They should have given it a different name and different time slot though.

Some network execs only hear the "Ka-ching"of the cash drawer.
They aren't interested in what we WANT.(They didn't ask what we want.)
Put yourself in their shoes,if you were paid the salary they get, would you
research, and fight the other execs for more evidence and credibility?,or
play safe, and go along with the program's insipid content as structured
by the other execs who believe their viewers are "just a bunch of
dummies"who don't know or demand accuracy in a self-purported
"scientific investigation."?

I completely agree with the original post. I was confused by the whole history channel/scifi release and at first I thought they were the same show. However, like the post says, the scifi show is way better. I like how the format is exactly like ghost hunters. Granted, it's not original, but it works and is easy to follow. Also, the history channel version is too dramatic and speculative (including camera movement and zoom) and the case really aren't as compelling. The blinking guy is really distracting as well. At least he's been wearing more sunglasses in recent episodes! I hope scifi does go through with it because I think they missed their audience over the confusion but once it becomes common-place, it will gain as much steam as ghost hunters did.

I would like to see the show stay on. if they dont have any plans for anything better. the team is lame and the leader of the team is so quick to believe everything he hears that no credibility can be given to any findings, because he want it to be true so bad. the team looks like it was thrown together like they drew names out of a hat. they have no sense of what a team is, its easy to tell. and the investigation techniques are like oprah winfrey is the producer or something( Geraldo should host it, at least he knows how to investigate even if he is a dork.)

I would love this to be picked up for a season. I agree it is much easier and interesting than the history channel show.. I like the format and more up to date cases. No offence to those that like the history channel show. But a 50 year old case from the mountains of peru with only 1 witness is kinda boring to watch them sit around and talk about for 1/2 hour. The SciFi Channel show was much much better.

Agreed. I just got done watching the "Reverse Engineering" episode from earlier this week. I couldn't believe they actually took images from the internet and threw them on the air. I then couldn't believe that they showed another set of images (again from the internet) and said "what's amazing is that these images appear to show the same craft but were posted by a user with a different name". Seriously? Was that their first time on the internet? What killed me was they later go and see a digital image specialist and he basically says without a doubt that they're fake and they still treated the images like evidence.

I will say they did have some interesting testimony but the team is just sooooooo gullible and willing to accept whatever proves their point. As always, the fast camera movements and zoom-in's/zoom-out's were just shy of nauseous . At least this time the leader of the group kept his sunglasses on the entire program so we didn't have to watch him incessantly blink.

I noticed that this show was NOT listed in the "upcoming TV series and specials in 2008" press release that Sci Fi recently announced, unfortunately. However, I still think that this show can be saved if enough people write to Sci Fi and request that they produce more episodes. If you have a problem with the pilot's format, then tell them (respectfully) how the show should be tweaked. Also, this show might get better ratings if it ran in the summer on a different night and time. Apparently, networks respond better to written-on pieces of paper than e-mails, so here is the snail mail address for the Sci Fi Channel:

SCI FI Channel, 21st Floor, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, NY 10112

(I got this address from a recent Sci Fi Wire article written by the Sci Fi staff, so it should be accurate. )

Just remember to be nice in the letter. Ranting and raving won't help.

yah about that. i dont believe ive seen anyone rant or rave.. certainly not rave, maybe the makers of the show should watch this forum. its bad enough they wasted my time with there fake soap opera drama and suspense. i dont think ill be breaking out any pad or paper and for sure not going to waste money on a stamp. thats what this forum is about they need to pay attention ti this, to keep from looking stupid. When they try to put this ***** on and act as if there going to find anything out. Of course i am talking about this history channel show. the scifi channel show all i saw was the one and it was kinda slow but i liked it better than the history channel show at least. there werent as many loser investigators, I mean im a believer and a skeptic(is that concept so hard to grasp, that they cant even fake it), ive had an experience that scared me half to death. but im still skeptical enough to know when there yanking my chain.. but at least your trying to be involved in keeping some sort of attention on the subject, and i appreciate that. so keep itup maybe they will come up with something that isnt just trying to sell deoderant and tampons..

Don't like the show at all. Boring. Format needs revamp. I have had enounters and am a firm believer, but this show does not inspire any positive reaction at all. Not much new here.
