Obviously a fair amount of money went into this film. In fact, the CGI was far better than the usual cheesy, Sci Fi Channel, "kill the monster" movies of virtually identical plot. So considering how much money went into this film, why does it seem like it was written by morons?

Would anyone over the age of seven not realize that a guy who had his arm bitten off would bleed to death in a couple of minutes, yet he lived for apparently hours before he wakes up and decides to use his tie for a tourniquet?

And how could the hero truck driver possibly know that the Wyrvern would get its head struck in the truck window at the precise moment he went over the cliff?

Of course, he couldn't have known. This is just another example of terrible writing. Even when the CGI effects improve, it is all for naught if the story itself is totally stupid.

What's the deal, anyway. Why does virtually every Sci Fi Channel film seem like it was written by a class of fourth graders?

Aren't these things even screened by a thinking adult? What a terrible waste of good cgi, decent actors and interesting sets when the story itself is totally ridiculous. And I could be saying this for virtually every "Sci Fi Original" film.

Here's a suggestion, instead of these same idiotic rehashes of the same predictable plots with just slightly different monsters to kill, why not buy good sci-fi, horror and fantasy stories written by real authors, and not use these Hollywood "writers" who clearly cannot write a realistic or original story.
