I am sick to my stomach over the finale, what the hec was the ending all about? Rating Options

I just recently was able to watch the finale of BSG and I hated it.
Just a short vent to tell the BSG cast and crew I loved the series right up to the final episode then I hated 95% of the rediculous turn in events. What happened to the story line? It just got burned? Mankinds serves a god they refer to as "IT"?
Mankind after 150 thousand years doesn't advance any further than we have today in 2000 years? Give me a FRAKKIN break!! I am so disappointed at the ending that it just frisses me off. I am going to go take my blood pressure medicine now.
I can count about 100 frakkin holes that the writer didn't fill! WTFRAK! What a cop-out on the ending of one of the best SCI-FI series ever!
I am now going to watch the enhanced version and try to understand why they didn't wrap up the series in more of a way that befits a great series such as BSG!
I can tell you the best ending would have been to have no ending at all or leave it wide open so the fans can still have some hope that mankind serves a real GOD not an "IT". That is moronic and this is only my opinion.

"It was hands-down the best conclusion to any show ever made. It was masterful, sublime and philosophically brilliant. It will not only be talked about but taught in universities centuries from now. No person has come close to creating a modern mythology as ingenious as RDM since Lucas in '77 and even Lucas blew it with his later prequels."

is supposed to be ridiculing those who liked it? Well, I would be willing to bet the money in my pocket right now ($1.67) that it WILL be used in classes in days to come. The whole series, bad with good, just like humanity, deserves to survive into our cultural mythos, like Star Wars. In terms of having an impact, I think there will be repercussions from this show for a long time to come.

It was a great ride. Take some Maalox and move on.

I second what Levski wrote - the militant anti-theists will eventually go away and take their whines with them leaving a more objective appraisal for the phenomenal brilliance of the whole story arc from entrance stage right to dénouement.


BTW, you know why so many militant anti-theists loved BSG - all four years? Because it fulfilled their closeted yearning to find meaning and purpose in life.

Did they discuss how stupid Gaius's trial was? The purpose of law in society? Make any comparisons to Blackstone's Commentaries?

The Star Wars prequels and the finale both had a message that is in opposition to the "American monomyth" of individual self-direction and progress. Star Wars with the midichlorian stuff and Moore's "God did it" finale. Where's the meaning and purpose in life if it already predetermined by the circumstances of one's genetic inheritance or Fate/God/Higher Force?

Wow I continue to be amazed at how so many take such a self-centered POV. Have you ever considered the possibility that the meaning and purpose is what God deems it to be - what is meaningful and purposeful to God and not imperfect man (you do at least admit you are an imperfect being, yes?).

I understand, though. For atheists, who believe that there is no meaning and purpose to life, this is all there is. When you die, you cease to be. However if this life is just a shadow of the real life - just a footnote in the grand novel which is existence then do you not concede the possibility of a greater meaning and purpose to existence?
