:( dunno if you guys have noticed or not but around here (Brookhaven a suburb of Phila PA in SE PA) we get anime twice a week on TV. Saturdays from Midnight to 6 AM ET Sunday morning and from 1 to 3 AM ET on SYFY on Thursdays (early Friday mornings) nights.

Come 9 June or 14 July (take your pick) SYFY will end its AniThursdays just weeks after promising to air all 77 episodes in 4 seasons of Star Blazers and all 74 episodes in 4 seasons of Monster.

Will anime ever come back to SYFY? I say yes but not before SYFY uses June to September as sweeps months to preview whatever junk they are trying to shove down our throats claiming it to be sci fi!

I mean c'mon man! Ghost Hunters; Professional (Faked) Wrestling; Cooking shows; Archaeology? For Christ's sake the only sci fi we ever see are those made for SYFY TV films! Please do not ask me to stomach Eureka, Warehouse 13, Sanctuary and whatever the Hell Alphas is and say it even remotely resembles sci fi!

SYFY or was it still Sci Fi back then? Anyhow they cancelled The Rave Master the week after promising us they'd finish the series. They have not been alone in mucking over us anime fans. IFC ditched Automat with HellGirl and WitchBlade, Black Lagoon and Eureka 7 (no relation to that asinine town full of know it all freaks and a sheriff who couldn't even pass a chef's exam!) just to name a few.

Ovation and Encore sometimes air anime but mostly films not series. I believe Tek Wars is being run again on ComcastOnDemand and occasionally HBO, Max, Showtime, MovieQuest and Starz decide to air some anime. Other than that what have we got?

COD/Cutting Edge has Adult Swim with eppys of FMA:Brotherhood and Funimation Free and Funimation Platinum the latter of whom charges 99 cents an eppy and $2.99 per special/film/bundled eppys. Do you think that SYFY or IFC has any anime on COD- Hell no!

Hard to believe we are the fastest growing and most popular genre (anime) on the planet today, ain't it? Yet we are. OK just a reminder that you can find the eppy videos for Monster and Star Blazers on YouTube and a synopses of eppys at wikipedia.org or--

Go to http://www.eons.com/...w_mode=details'>anime-a-holics update link

and for the remaining weeks http://www.eons.com/...-9-amp-11-June'>anime-a-holics new update link

In my aah Files twice a month you can peruse our COD anime on TV viewing guide posted on the 10th and 25th of each month. OK I have sent a PM to SYFY asking them to clarify whether or not they are ending anime for good or just a short hiatus before I put out a petition to save anime on SYFY.

Thanks for listening and have a nice day tomorrow- Jack/keimanzero Scion of Anime

Wow, that post was full of so much ignorance that it was almost painful to read it! In no way did Syfy "promise" us that they would complete Star Blazers and Monster. I'll admit it's really unprofessional of them to start them and not finish them, but they never told us they would air the whole darn thing. This isn't the first time this has happened either. In 2008 Sci Fi Ani-Monday aired Tokko Episodes 1-11...but not 12 and 13!

So Syfy had no obligation to finish running those series, and they most likely won't. It would have been better if they had pulled out another 13-epper and Macross Plus for their final shows, mind you, but they didn't, and now anime is disappearing from the network and, at least for the short term, not coming back.

That being said, I do hope it returns in the fall, but hopefully not as Ani-Thursdays. I thought Ani-Tuesdays was better, and Ani-Thursdays were usually so darn late ever since Gurren Lagann ended it was ridiculous! I guess we'll see! If not, I'm only a few posts away from my last post on this board! #753 seems like a good final post count...

<_< I er beg to differ but on another anime board there was a quote from SYFY producers that 'yes SYFY has all 77 episodes in 4 seasons of Star Blazers and we will air the entire series. We will also finish out the entire Monster series.'

And Tokko they did air episodes 12 and 13 albeit at 3 AM ET the following night. I too hope that Ani____Day returns soon to SYFY but just in case it does not anyone who wishes to catch Star Blazers episodes (at least through Quest for Iscandar and Comet Empire) as well as Monster episodes I post a weekly update of them along with updates on CN/AS Bleach; Kekkaishi; FMA:Brotherhood and Foolley Coolley which air Saturdays at Midnight ET to 2 AM ET on my own website for anime buffs here-

http://www.eons.com/...anime-a-holics'>EONS anime-a-holics/updates

and if anyone has ComcastOnDemand I post a twice monthly Guide to anime on TV on the 10th and 25th of each month here-

http://www.eons.com/...anime-a-holics'>EONS anime-a-holics/Files

Oh and if anyone knows when The Rave Master will be aired on TV please post the details for me here. That's another series that Sci Fi failed to finish. Thanks a lot and have a nice weekend- keimanzero :)

Actually, Syfy DID finish Rave Master; it's just that it didn't really end conclusively. They did show all there was of it to show 2 summers ago though.

R.I.P. Ani-Monday/Tuesday/Thursday

Street Fighter II V, Now and Then Here and There, Monster, and Gundam 00 were pretty sweet.

 All of the anime series chosen by Sci Fi and SYFY have been excellent. The anime films are another story. Dead Leaves was a real piece of crapola and no mistake! RIP KG? Don't you remember that Sci Fi and SYFY are famous for dropping a series only to bring it back a few months later?

Remember that June at SYFY is the same as May is at the bigger networks- sweeps month. That's when you try and drum up enough interest in your lousy programs to entice and lure in potential sponsors. July for SYFY is the same as September is for ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox &c.- start of the new season.

I say by September we have anime back on SYFY albeit on yet another night- maybe AniFridays? That's when CN first started Adult Swim with anime not the junk they show now! Outside of American Dad it's mostly garbage with a capital 'G'!

I only hope that when SYFY does bring back anime it's still SB and Monster and from where they left off. SB ends tonight with Eps 15-16 and ditto for Monster with Eps 7-8. The last time Monster ran on SYFY it got up to the late 50s in episodes and with 74 we are still a long way from the end.

Monster of course is readily available for sale or DL and is on YT as well as Torrents. For SB it can be found on DVD bit it ain't cheap! Likewise it can be found on YT and Torrents. For more SB data and information here's the official SB website:

http://www.starblazers.com/home.php'>Official website for Star Blazers

Wikipedia.org has tons of data and information about almost any anime you can think of and wiki has links to other related websites as well. Wiki usually includes a detailed episode guide with a pretty fair synopsis for each episode. I use it and YT for my updates thread and I use Yahoo.com for my anime images/pix searches.

Well I have only an hour before AniThursday the Last and tomorow I must post the June 10th Guide to COD for anime on TV. Thanks for all the help guys. It has been greatly appreciated. Again here is a link to my anime-a-holics website group page at EONS.

Anyone over 12 can join us and anyone can buzz in and look around. Our aah is just about the only anime themed group at EONS. Anime Music Videos hosted by one of my moddies Tang Soo Pap is the other anime group there. Here's the link for aah and for AMV too:

OK time for me to split. Let's raise a glass to SYFY and hope they bring back our beloved anime really soon. Sayonara for now- keimanzero SOA B)

I don't particularly agree. While most of the series shown by SyFy have been good, some of them just turned me off because they were just too childish for my taste (Gurrenn Lagaan, Rave Master, and Noein come to mind).

I did like when they showed Ninja Scroll though, that's the best movie they played.

I doubt it's coming back. It's too bad because if it doesn't come back that means Star Blazers will go unfinished. Although I'm sure 90% of people have seen it already. Ani-Fridays? That wouldn't be a bad idea actually. I support that one. But on a small sidenote, Cartoon Network started Adult Swim anime on Saturday nights. Speaking of which, I don't see why there couldn't be Ani-Friday and Ani-Saturday, although they would have to come up with a way cooler name than that.

Hate to be a pessimist but I think this is it.

<_< I hate to burst your bubble my friend but AS on CN DID originally debut on Friday nights at 11 PM ET with Outlaw Star which was soon replaced by the always popular Cowboy Bebop.

You thought GL was childish and RM as well as Noein? All three relied on concepts that some college professors could never follow especially Noein which deals with time and motion switching akin to Bozun jumping in Martian Successour Nadesico.

Sure 90% of us may have already seen Star Blazers but who can recall from the early 80s? It seems entirely new to me and the only reason I recall it is that haunting theme song.

As I said before don't be fooled. IFC deserted us but SYFY is always using June for its sweeps month. This Saturday for example is Ice Road Terror and it's no secret that SYFY's parent corp owns History Channel home of the Ice Road Truckers.

Could this mean that although HC runs IRT on ComcastOnDemand only that the series will jump to SYFY?

There is too much of an anime fanbase for SYFY to get away with starting two superb anime series and then ditching them in midstream and hope to get away with it. Nope I've seen this happen before.

Trust me, anime will return by October at the latest. Ninja Scroll was excellent as was Basilisk (IFC) which is still running on COD/CuttingEdge/FunimationFree. The way Rave Master had no real closure reminds me of a few others such as Trinity Blood, Blood+, Noein, Tactics, the list goes on.

Japanese animators get bored very quickly it seems and just drop a series whenever they get writer's block! Too bad they ain't allowed to peruse fanfictions for ideas although SYFY is not above this practice.

In a sidenote about SB if I may- SB's version of a 'space warp' and Star Trek's and Star Wars's are very different. In Trek and Wars a warp is simply the speed of light (186M mps) but with SB it is more like forcing open a wormhole in space and then hustling the ship through it just in the nick of time to avoid a Gamilon energy blast.

Poor Nova has a new love struck rival- IQ- the robotic android! Venture & Wildstar are both smitten with Starsha of Iskandar while Nova's really head over heels for Derek.

Just to be on the safe side I'm looking for a good affordable DVD set of SB and the second half of Monster as well as those 26 eps of InuYasha- Final Act. I also need to get DVD sets of the original Lovely Angels 26 episode TV series (Dirty Pair) but there's only one source for them.

Cannot advertise here by telling you but PM me at keiman0@yahoo.com or visit my EONS anime-a-holics group pages for it. I supplied a link in an earlier reply here at SYFY.

Oh SYFY tossed us a curve ball tonight. SB began its last two episodes at Midnight ET not 1 AM which is when Monster's final two were on TV.

Well tomorrow I must post my Guide for anime on TV on ComcastOnDemand which I post at aah in Files. See you around cyberspace- keimanzero :D

:) Sure vampress happy to oblige. First though I just found out that CN/Asult Swim will be premiering Durarara!! series on Saturdays beginning 25 June. It will replace Kekkaishi at 12:30 AM ET. In a couple of weeks when Foolley Coolley ends its second run (only 6 episodes) more than likely Kekkaishi will replace it. Still no word on what happens in 15 weeks when FMAB ends its run. It's got so complex a plot and subplots that CN will probably repeat it in the same time slot.

Now here are the links for my own anime-a-holics site, Tang's Anime Music Videos site and the official Star Blazers site. Enjoy the weekend- keimanzero SOA

Kids these days. Adult Swim didn't even start playing on Friday nights until a couple of years ago. Adult Swim anime started on Saturday nights with Yu Yu Hakusho. In the words of ESPN's Chris Berman: "I remember because I was there!"

Yes I thought Gurrenn Laggan, Rave Master, and Noein were childish. Only a handful of 10 year olds would have enjoyed those series. Now and Then, Here and There, Macross Plus, and Monster, on the other hand, were quite pleasing.

B) To each his own but Noein, Rave Master and even GL had complex plots and subplots no ten year old could understand let alone figure out. And I apologize again but I am looking at my early CD copy from the very first Toonami which was Adult Swim's name in 1985 when they debuted on Fridays with Outlaw Star which quickly gave way to Cowboy Bebop. At the same time afternoon fare was Dot/Hack/Sign (created to explain how the video game worked same as Transformers came into being to push the Hasbro Toys line); Sailor Moon; Zoids; DragonBall and the afternoons ended with Rurouni Kenshin and InuYasha. At least here in the Philadelphia PA suburbs it did. Yes when they changed Toonami to Adult Swim and bumped Toonami back to prime time AS debuted on Saturdays with YuYu Hakusho and that one was really a tough one to follow if your thinking on the afterlife was Christian or Occidental (Western). I especially liked Otherworld and HFIL (Home For Infinite Losers) on DragonBallZ, DBZKai and DBGT. YYH had otherworld, Demonworld, Neu something world which meant like Limbo and one other I cannot recall offhand. Bleach's version with the Soul Society is by far the coolest of all with the Rukkan District; the Seretai and Hueco Mundo or Hollow Earth where the Hollows, Arrancar and Espada hang out with Sousuke Aizen the former Squad 5 captain in command of it from his palace stronghold Los Noches (The Nights). And by far the scariest had to be a tie- HellGirl and Requiem From the Darkness although Descendants of Darkness and Tokka were a little frightening. Here's a link to all the anime ever shown on Sci Fi or SYFY- scroll down to Anime shown on SYFY. Impressive list and I never realized how many AniMondays had brought us-

http://en.wikipedia...._Syfy_programs'>My link to SYFY anime programs on SYFY

Well I am continuing to post updates (episode synopsis, pix and episode videos) for Monster and Star Blazers as well as the current Sat-Sun AS lineup on CN beginning at Midnight ET. They are Bleach, Kekkaishi, Fullmetal Alchemist:Brotherhood and Foolley Coolley. Next week in Kekkaishi's time slot Durarara!! series will debut and look for Kekkaishi to return in two weeks in FLCL's time slot because next week FLCL ends its third run. Since the InuYasha slot's still up for grabs maybe we will be seeing that IY:The Final Act of 26 episodes coming to very early Sunday AMs at half past five ET. I posted a link to my Updates thread elsewhere in this post and my Guide to OnDemand anime on TV (Comcast) is a twice monthly affair (10th & 25th) which I keep under Files at my anime-a-holics group site on EONS. Happy Father's Day to all and we have an Irishman (Rory McIlroy who led 3 of the Master's 4 rounds) at ten under par after the first day leading the tournament(US Open in Bethesda MD at Congressional CC links). Hopefully he'll go all the way this time. Go Rory! Later- keimanzero

:( So did I lostphracky and if it's any consolation to you most of the Noein episodes can be found at hulu or YouTube. Best way to search for them is to open Yahoo.com and type in Noein episodes videos them hit Enter and pick and choose from there. Noein DVDs seem to be available from many online sources to buy or if you dare you can try Torrents like uTorrent or $^&$*^*$ for them or see my list of anime sources at anime-a-holics group messages boards. I loved Tactics and was overjoyed to find it available online even if it was a used set. When I got them they were still in their original cellophane wrapper- a good value at $10 + s/h and nope I only deal with sources that do not bootleg or pirate anime.

Oh yeah this coming weekend (25 June) the CN/AS lineup will look like this (all times Eastern):

Midnight: Bleach
12:30 AM: Durarara!! (New series. Replaces Kekkaishi)
1 AM: Fullmetal Alchemist:Brotherhood
1:30 AM: Foolley Coolley (Episode 6 of 6)
The rest of the night's the same as before.

The weekend after (2 July) the lineup at CN/AS will be:

Midnight: Bleach
12:30 AM: Durarara!!
1 AM: Fullmetal Alchemist:Brotherhood
1:30 AM: Most of us feel Kekkaishi will move to this time slot when FLCL ends its run.
The rest of the night's same as before.

Well meh, I've honestly moved on from anime on tv. While they do occasionally throw us the odd bone it's honestly pretty sparse. The censors are to annoying for me anymore. If you want my opinion move on to Hulu or Netflix they have pretty decent anime selections, you have to watch them on your computer but honestly that's not as much of a sacrifice as it sounds.

;) Do you have Comcast Iamrandom? If you do go to ComcastOnDemand and hit Cutting Edge. There you will find Funimation Animation with at least a dozen free anime series and films. Even the pay per view FA anime (Funimation Platinum) offers first episode free then 99 cents each. Specials which are films or bundled episodes are only $2.99. Many of my club members use Netflix and you can get DVDs to play on your DVD player to watch on TV. My PC acts up so much that I usually have problems viewing online. Of course most anime can be found online at YouTube, VEOH, VideoSurf, megavideo, crunchyroll, sevenoaks, justdubs, justanime or the Torrents. Youtube has almost all of the Star Blazer episodes and all of the Monster episodes. Anime on TV isn't dead yet. Several TV networks carry anime on demand and Nicktoons is running anime as well as The Hub. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie (live action film) from 1995 is showing this month on on demand TV. I still think that SYFY will bring back anime in the fall. Who knows- maybe IFC will bring it back. It'll be better than the ***** they are airing these days! Word is that SYFY may soon be airing Ice Road Truckers because they do own the History Channel that is airing IRT now on demand. I'll keep posting my updates with episode plot synopsis, pix and episode videos if I can find them to post. Have a nice week- keimanzero Scion of Anime B)

I keep meaning to buy the boxed set. It's pretty dirt cheap as it is. Something like $20 - $25 usually. I just keep putting it off for some reason. Someday though!

And yeah, like Iamrandom I've started to watch anime more online through Netflix or Crunchy Roll or whatever. Started with Heroman, moved on to Ghost Hound (which I need to finish at some point) and I'm currently loving the hell out of Tiger & Bunny.

 Ken a great place to find a list of really nice anime is here-

http://www.absolutea...tml?sort=title'>My link to animeontv.com anime series data

If you want a list of all the anime ever aired over here in the States I have one in our aah Files at EONS. The one that gave me fits until I finally located it a year or two ago was Kakurenbo aka Hide 'N Seek a short anime film but scary like HellGirl or Requiem From the Darkness were.

Oh and the latest word out of H-Wood is that we may soon be seeing the Lovely Angels aka Dirty Pair in a live action film. Our aah members and our AH1 members are already making suggestions for character roles. Someone suggested Arnie the 'Guvanator' Schwartzenegger to play Chief Gooley and Leonard Nimoy to play Chief Garner! As for Kei and Yuri the trouble consultants from the 3WA- any suggestions guys?

Oh one last thing- if you have ComcastOnDemand one of the networks is airing the 1995 live actioner Mighty Morphin Power Rangers with Johnny Yong Bosch (Ichigo on Bleach and Vash on Trigun) as one of the Rangers. Wonder why he wasn't cast for either the Green Hornet or the Green Lantern films? He's one of my FaceBook friends and he's really a nice guy. B)

OK I included the pix of Johnny as an attachment since it won't accept image.

To all,
I would like to complain to SyFy that having Star Blazers on Thurs nite/Fri Morn taken off was a mistake. Playing a classic anime series like this made me record and suffer through syfy commercials. Hence they get their advertising return. Now with it off I have no reason to record and watch. I hadn't seen this series in almost 3 decades and only saw the first 2 seasons. I was hoping that when they put it on that I would finally get to see the 3rd season but apparently not.

Thanks as I get off my soapbox
Don't assume I'm the butthole you think I am, get to know me for the one I really am, you might just like me!
