Hey Folks,

News came out that there would be another 6 episodes after the 5th season. We are currently in Season 4.5, so there is a whole new season of 13 episodes, and then Syfy for now has ordered an additional 6 episodes after that for a 6th Season. Syfy is still working out if that will be the end of Eureka or not. According to Syfy's Mark Stern they are hopeful the franchise will continue after that. So let's not spread the rumors of Eureka being canceled, since Syfy just ordered more episodes beyond Season 5.

***Just added, reports are coming in that Syfy has decided not to go ahead with another 6 eps, making next season, Season 5 the last***

It's much too early to know; the initial episode order doesn't always reflect the final pick-up. For example, Chuck was renewed for only 13 episodes for its 4th (most recently broadcast) season, but a few weeks after the season started it got an order for 11 additional episodes, ultimately making it the longest season to date.

I don't want Eureka to end (after season 6) so I'm really glad there's a possibility it won't.

That makes no sense for them to order 6 eps and pull them less than 24 hours later. I am still waiting official word from Syfy.

I don't want to cause chaos until it is official, last I heard it is not offical. So let's wait and see before the raving people come in and start attacking the network.

We don't know if it's offical, just the other day they ordered more episodes, so it is conflicting stories. We will likely get the offical word later tonight or first thing tomorrow morning.

Did a new Wrestling show or lame reality show suddenly become available? SyFy is killing it's venue and just airing whatever cheap ***** they can get their hands on instead of quality programming.

Way to ruin entertainment. Now we need a new Sci-Fi channel to replace this..... excuse we have now.

^^Dude I was just thinking that, we need a "Science Fiction Channel" to pop up, and pick up Eureka. I was not on the SGU backlash bandwagon because I understood why SGU got canned (bad ratings) but Eureka continues to perform well, almost as well as Warehouse 13...I know it probably costs more, but still, this is cruel.

And I can bet the show actually is cancelled, that link seems credible to me.

I hope that the producers can be brought back to the table though...A six episode thing to wrap things up would be better than cancelling before they have a chance to wrap storylines

So they order six new episodes and then tell us that it might not even be over after that and then within a day, they cancel those six episodes and tell us that the Christmas special is the last episode? WTH?!
