Personally, I have to wonder whether there's an internal conspiracy at Universal aimed at getting SyFy to fail.

Smackdown got 0.7
The cynical side of me says that these shows are so cheap to produce that even with bad ratings like this, Sy-Fy can still make money.
I really think Sy-Fy is alienating its current viewing audience, and judging from various posts, I am not alone in that assessment.
However, at one time, USA was known as a junk, low-budget network. Now, I see USA as pretty good, actually with a few shows I like, such as White Collar, Burn Notice, and Covert Affairs. I wonder what happened that turned them around? It would be interesting to know. Anyone?
In the meantime, I'll hold out some hope that Sy-Fy will eventually return to its former glory, and, hopefully, painfully bad ratings like this will help.

Survivor creator Mark Burnett joins forces with Seth Jarrett and Julie Insogna, creators of the hit series Celebrity Ghost Stories, to take viewers on a spooky thrill ride through some of the most infamously haunted colleges and high schools nationwide. Students, alumni, and faculty share their intimate paranormal encounters while their experiences are brought to life in Jarrett's arresting style of storytelling.

It's difficult to believe that there are ghosts out there unless you experience them first hand. I myself have had experiences with a spirit while dorming at a university which started to physically and mentally affect me.

0.4 is quite good for an inexpensive show.If this is any indication, these shows won't last long. Insane or Inspired 0.4 rating.
Smackdown got 0.7
By way of comparison, much more costly shows Eureka and Lost Girl both pulled 0.5 this week.
(And of course, the 0.7 for Smackdown is the very reason it remains on this network. Effectively, wrestling subsidizes more expensive programming.)

***off topic***
All the shows that people watch(ed); (Stargate series, Eureka, The Closer, The Fades(BBC), Sanctuary, BSG, Caprica etc) are being canceled left and right. Judging from this situation, I would say that broadcast TV is on life support.
The Internet is causing a technological revolution. What was once the leading news medium, the classic "news paper" is now being transformed to websites, many of which are operated "individually". (I.E DigitalJournal, etc) The same thing that is happening to news papers is happening to broadcast TV, only faster with services like Hulu, iTunes, Netflix, and their current unknown successors.
If any more of my "reasons" to have cable service get canceled, then what's the point of having cable TV after that?
