This is an update to my post on SCI FI network please save Terminator SCC

I'd like to inform everyone that there is a new effort underway to Save Sarah Connor!

Judgement Day!
May 18, 2009. It is a date we will long remember. It is the date that FOX Television network pulled the plug on Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles. The fans were angry. They protested. They signed petitions, sent emails, faxes, letters to both Warner Brothers and FOX Television to save our show. The good people at SaveTheSCC even designed a billboard and sent it around to Warner Brothers studio in 2009.

Unfortunately all was in vain, as unbeknownst to the fans, the rights to Terminator was in contention months before Pacificor sued Halcyon for repayment of its loan in August 2009.

Pacificor acquired ownership of Terminator in court, shutting out other bids in a courtroom deal. Pacificor then spent the next several months trying to find a studio willing to make an offer produce more films. Hollywood was quiet for a very long time until Megan Ellison's studio, Annapurna Pictures, made an offer in May 2011. It just remained for the studio and the hedge fund to finalize a deal. But the future still looked bleak for any return of The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Terminators Rights are Settled!
On December 3, 2012, it was announced that Megan Ellison had partnered with her brother David Ellison, to finalize the deal with Pacificor to acquire the Terminator assets. Their rights include films, home entertainment, television projects, and merchandise.

You can read the full article here: http://tinyurl.com/dx9cztc

The primary item you should notice is that the final deal includes Television Projects!

Finally after four years of limbo, Warner Brothers has a new company they can negotiate with to produce more Sarah Connor Chronicles!

Unfortunately, we don't know if Warner Brothers is interested in continuing the Sarah Connor Chronicles or if Annapurna is interested in pursuing the TV Projects portion of its deal with Pacificor. In order to show them that there is still a market for The Sarah Connor Chronicles, we need your help to spread the word to fans who will join you and the rest of us in contacting Warner Brothers, Annapurna, and Sundance to let them know that the fans of TSCC are still here and that completing this series is the best way to continue the franchise!

The Situation as it Stands, March 24, 2013Posted Image

Where Do We Stand? by JackL156 » Sun Mar 24, 2013 7:58 am

Over the last few days / weeks there have been a few important updates regarding TSCC and I thought it would be a good idea to get a post together explaining where we currently stand in our Campaign for a continuation of the Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Right a quick summary of the last few months, in December 2012 Megan Ellison and her production company Annapurna pictures finalized a deal for the rights to the Terminator franchise, these rights included TV shows. Warner Brothers own everything inclusive to TSCC whilst Annapurna owns everything Terminator. For a continuation we need both parties to work together.

We started this new Campaign in an effort to do what we can to ultimately see a return of TSCC giving us answers to the questions we were left with at the end of Season 2. To help us do this we have this forum, our promotional video and our online petition. How each of these are contributing towards the campaign is explained on the relevant parts of the forum.

On Mar 13, 2013 the Veronica Mars kickstarter surfaced. It is a fan funded project towards a continuation of the show and to this day has 58,982 backers and has raised $3,838,161 with 19 days still to go.

The success of the project rattled the movie industry and left fans of cancelled shows thinking why can't this be used for our show?? See this link to an article from IGN on five shows they would like to see KickStarted. http://tinyurl.com/c85abbe.

Josh Friendman the producer behind TSCC was quick to respond to questioning fans dismissing the chances of a TSCC kickstarter leaving many of us feeling disappointed.

Earlier this week an article popped up by the TheArnoldFans http://tinyurl.com/bk9osay and **** it didn't disappoint. Have a look at the message below from James Middleton the executive Producer of TSCC.

James Middleton:

"You know, Josh Friedman and I have talked a lot about this (and I mean A LOT) and he recently tweeted about it in the wake of the VM (Veronica Mars) excitement. The issue is that the current owners of the franchise seem to have no interest in reviving TSCC. And if they were interested, they would not need Kickstarter to finance the movie. There are well-funded entities that have previously expressed strong interest in reviving TSCC and the franchise owners (Annapurna Pictures) - through their reps - have passed on the idea. WBTV no longer has the sole right to restart the series or to do a spinoff, so the participation of the current franchise owners is critical. But they seem to be focussed on making Terminator movies at the moment which is not shocking or even a surprise. Josh and I would love to do a TSCC movie, if it were possible. A movie would be more feasible to schedule with the cast."

From the above statement there are several points that can be taken from it. (The points below were written by Russ)

1) All persons involved in TSCC would like to continue the series. "Josh and I would love to do a TSCC movie, if it were possible. A movie would be more feasible to schedule with the cast." Summer Glau has said many times during Convention interviews the last few years that herself and the rest of the cast would love to come back to TSCC.

2) "Kickstarter [not needed] to finance movie. There are well-funded entities that have previously expressed strong interest in reviving TSCC..." He does not say who these well funded parties are but probably sponsors and distributors, TV networks, Cable, video-on-demand internet and cable services. But that offers some enlightenment to Josh's reactive tweets regarding kickstarter.

3) "WBTV no longer has the sole right to restart the series or to do a spinoff, so the participation of the current franchise owners is critical." We've known this right along. WB first was partnered with C2 during the making of Season 1, and then when Halcyon bought the franchise, WB was partnered with them. WB only owns that which they introduced to the franchise, not that which they had to 'borrow' from the franchise to make the series. So to make any continuation they need to work with Annapurna. Unfortunately...

4) "Franchise owners (Annapurna Pictures) - through their reps - have passed on the idea... [of] ...reviving TSCC...." "...they seem to be focused on making Terminator movies at the moment which is not shocking or even a surprise."

As you can see it's all ultimately down to Megan Ellison and her production company Annapurna Pictures whether we see a continuation of the Sarah Connor Chronicles whilst she owns the Terminator rights. It seems that the best chance of getting their co-operation is by showing them the fan base that still exists for the show and keeping our fingers crossed.

Unfortunately Megan Ellison and Annapurna Pictures have proved hard to contact, the main way to contact them has been via Twitter which has led to several of us including myself being banned from following them. Arguably this shows they are reading our messages but is still not ideal.

We are continuing to search for more paths to contact them but as of yet have not had much luck.

To summarize the situation is not as bad as many of us had feared, the crew + cast want a continuation, the finances are available for a continuation, it appears Warner Brothers are happy for a continuation to take place and we want one!!

Our only obstacle is Annapurna, we need to show them the fan base that still exists and why they should bring our show back. Do that and we WILL get our continuation.

We have come so far and will not fail now.

No Fate But What We Make

The One Day Push!1.png?v=20111214172750

May 18th has been a sad anniversary for TSCC fans. Lets make it a proud day.

Let's make it a day that all the fans came together as ONE, and said WE WANT MORE!

I'd like to see 500 people to contact the organizations below in what we are calling, The One Day Push!

The Power of One

One Fan - That means you!

One Means - Choose Phone, Fax, Mail, Email, Company Website, Twitter or Facebook

One Day - May 18, 2014, the 5th Anniversary of when TSCC was canceled
May 18th is a Sunday. Unless you want to leave a message, phone calls, tweets, and emails should be made on the following Monday. Mail should go out no later than the Wednesday before.

One Time - No Spamming! Please, do not repeatedly contact one organization. Just pick one or more of each of the organizations below, and send one message, one time, by one means to each of them.

One Message - Be respectful. Do not be negative about the reboot even if you don't like it. This is a message about support for TSCC. Depending on who you contact, or the method you use, you may want to change your message accordingly. A longer message okay with mail, email, or fax, but a shorter message is better with phone, Twitter, Facebook, or message box on a webpage.
Example 1: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was a great series. The Season 2 finale demands closure. Please let the story be completed.
Example 2: The fans of the Sarah Connor Chronicles need closure. James Middleton's DVD movie is all we need.
Example 3: The original Terminator film story is being concluded in a 12 issue comic book series. Doesn't TSCC deserve closure too?
Example 4: Fans of Sarah Connor Chronicles want nothing more than James Middleton's DVD movie, and nothing less than respectful closure to a great series!

If you use a social media service that uses hashtags, don't forget to use one or more of the following: #BringBackTSCC #SaveTSCC #SaveSarah

One Organization - Choose any one of the three below or all of them, but leave only one message with each. Remember we aren't asking anyone person to spam.

as I understand it, there is only one type of mail they really pay attention to,  and that is snail mail, actual letters written on paper and mailed to the studios/production companies, what have you, the more actual letters they get, the more it gets their attention and shows that there are people out here that care about the show.
